"My son's been a patient of Dr. Masi's for about 5 years. He's AMAZING. He's very responsive, very engaged - we were previously with another doc that I felt was cranking out prescriptions as fast as she could write them. Dr. Masi spends time with us, never rushing us through. In fact, there have been plenty of times we've had to wait for our appointment to begin, but I never mind that because I know he's giving that patient 100% of his attention, just like he'll give to us when it's our turn. I love that, with Dr. Masi, my son gets the benefit of a therapy session along with his prescriptions, which is so important for someone whose brain is still developing. I've referred several friends, and they've all become happy, regular patients. I saw another reviewer stated Dr. Masi never returned his call, or never called his father. If that's true, I think there must have been other things in play there because Dr. Masi has never failed to call us back, and almost every single time, it's been after hours - in the evening or weekend - when most other doctors would be off."

"I had Dr. Masi for a few weeks after getting out of the hospital. He was very energetic and caring at first. The second time I visited him he was going to prescribe me to a new medication, but needed to call my father first since it is a controlled medication and I am a minor. He said he would call him later that day, but never did. A week went by, and he still had not called my dad. I called his receptionist to remind him of it and she said she would let him know. Several days went by, I left a message, still didn't call. So i called again and about 12-14 days later he finally called my dad. I really did not appreciate this. I feel like as a doctor, you have a responsibility to take complete care of your patients and be fully involved with their health and improvement progress. He very clearly forgot about me so I had to take initiative and call him several times myself. I will not go see Dr. Masi again. I do not recommend him unless it's a one time appointment. He does not keep up well with his patients. I'm sure there are other better psychiatrists in the Austin area."
