Alnoor grocery and grill 4043 Gravois Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63116

"(My rating is really for the food more than anything else) I’m always looking for different international stores to go into, so I thought I would check out AlNoor today. It’s really less of a grocery store than many of the international markets on Grand, but they had some interesting teas, spices, 5 pound containers of yogurt, and some really pretty mortar/pestles. I guess they’re more of a “grill“ than a store, and so I got something from the restaurant in the back. Small menu, but that’s easier for me sometimes! I have to admit, I’ve never eaten Shawarma before, but this was totally delicious. It came out hot and fast and it was quite a large wrap, bursting with chicken. I was happily surprised by my first bite that it had pickles in it. As I chewed, I noticed how it warmed up my mouth with the spiciness (but not too much for the sissy!) and I was really glad I stopped in. Parking is kind of not great - I did get a spot in front of the store, but it’s right at a very busy part of Gravois, where traffic was zooming very close to the shoulder where I parked. Still, I would definitely eat their food again."

"I needed some garbonzo beans and couldn’t find at my usual grocery so stopped in and they had three different kinds of dried garbanzo beans in addition to the canned! Wonderful! I ate here with a friend a month ago for their grand opening. This is the third time I have visited and plan on returning."
