Hotel Kira - Dog Hotel

"Long story. We made travel plans from Ohio to Galveston,where we would be staying for a month. However, mid trip would be flying to Cancun for a wedding. Unexpectedly, we ended up with an abused shelter pup. He traveled with us to Texas. However, we now had to find a place to board Eddy. It seemed easy, however, after visiting several places, I was in a panic, as they all reminded me of the shelter. I knew he would suffer a setback. Out of sheer luck, I found Hotel Kira, which is even convenient to the Houston Airport. I immediately called and set up an appointment. I fell in love with them and knew it was the right place for Eddy. It is 24/7 (most leave pups unattended overnight). He was not kennelled. He spent his days on comfy couches, playing outside with all of his new friends, and rumor has it, sleeping in bed. He came home happy and not stressed. "This place is amazing! I have a very high energy chocolate Labrador that really needed an outlet. He can be weird with other dogs because he wasn’t good at managing his emotions but Steffi and Kritzia worked a miracle with him. He is only 8 months so he is still learning what is okay and what isn’t. They really did an amazing job at introducing him to their pack and took it really slow. It only took 3 days for him to start feeling comfortable around more than one dog at a time. They were very honest with me and I really appreciate that. He has been going to Hotel Kira for a month now and has improved so much. Now I bring Mowgli to daycare every chance I get. He loves it so much and it’s so nice to have a tired dog at the end of the day. I am so grateful I found Steffi and Kritzia. They have really made my life so much easier."

"Hotel Kira is amazing! We were concerned about our dog (a pandemic rescue pup) as he is (or was ) quite nervous around strangers and some other dogs. Our friends recommended we check it out as a previous foster playmate, Clyde, had been adopted by the owners so he would know at least one dog there. After his first day visit there was marked improvement in his confidence. After his third visit he actually started to be much more interested in adults (he is extremely wary of children still but we are working on that as we can). We had to travel for a family gathering so we set up a two week stay, expecting him to be a bit sad but the care and play he got definitely reduced any anxiety he would have felt. He is always extremely excited to go over for play dates so we are overjoyed we found Hotel Kira. Price definitely reflects the higher level of care and facility- your pet won’t just be put in a kennel by themselves but allowed to play with the other residents with supervision. Based on how much better our pup is doing after some visits there, we highly suggest anyone check them out if you need daycare or overnight stays. The regular videos and updates they provide will give peace of mind to even the most concerned puppy parent. Pick up and drop off is available in some areas but we just chauffeur ours ourselves."

"Hotel Kira is absolutely fantastic. They always have update photos and videos of the dogs honestly having more fun than I’ve ever provided. The dogs are sweet, the environment healthy and safe, I’m a believer and direct my friends there. Especially if you have dogs that are a little kennel shy. They have set an awfully high standard. What a blessing to be close to a place this wonderful."

"Obie and Triss have been going to Hotel Kira for daycare the past two months. We had been struggling to find a daycare that would accept Triss because she’s very shy in new places and with new people. They’ve been so patient with her and she’s really been coming out of her shell and getting more confident lately. They send us pictures and videos regularly and I just love seeing how happy they are at daycare. They also pick them up and drop them off on daycare days, which is incredibly helpful. I cannot say enough good things about them and I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Kira, especially for shy or nervous pups."
