"Pat was nice when I met her for my initial consultation and I was happy that she did EMDR. the day of my second appointment she canceled because she wasn’t feeling well so I rescheduled when she was feeling better. The day of the appointment I completely forgot that it was scheduled that day. Every other therapist has sent me a reminder the day before. I didn’t realize I missed the appointment until I got a notification about a charge on my account. I had been charged a no show fee. She didn’t bother texting or calling me when I didn’t show up which is surprising because she’s a LCSW so you’d think she would have been concerned about a person seeking mental health treatment being AWOL. When I messaged her about it she said “ Hi Brendan. I understand you are angry. I think when you make an appointment you are responsible for following through or communicating that you’re unable to make it. I try to send everyone a reminder but we obviously missed one. I don’t feel that that absolves you of responsibility. I’ll refund the charges and think it would be best to terminate our relationship. I’ll cancel any other appointments.” I couldn’t believe she was pointing fingers rather than providing any sort of concern for my well being. Anyways, I don’t recommend her because I’ve never been spoken to or treated this poorly by a therapist before."
