Reviews of Second Amendment Sports
"Just did a private training session with Mike E. Mike is highly knowledgeable, and a great teacher! I have been practicing the skills he taught me. Very important to train and know how to use your firearm safely, and the proper way. Looking forward to taking the next step and having Mike instruct me on it! Thank you Mike!! Also I have been going to Second Amendment for several years now and I can't say enough great things about the place and every single employee that works there!!"
"I have taken several classes and they have all been well done. The instructors are personable even when correcting your bad habits. Today's class was run by Nick with Frank assisting and they were both great. Forget watching the clock or trying to stay awake. They kept things moving at a good pace start to finish. (2/3 of today was on the range). I look forward to the follow-up class (hopefully with the same team). After class, they were also helpful out in the store picking out some new accessories."
"DO NOT BY A GUN FROM THIS PLACE! Absolute trash customer service. Recently purchased a brand new over under that came with a broken barrel selector/safety switch. They had the gunsmith take a look at it but they just came back with that's how the gun came. Another range officer stated he really doesn't use his safety when shooting trap, sporting clay, 5 stand etc. and I can just keep the gun open as my safety. They provided no final recourse and basically told me I own the gun as is. Went to Cabela's to look at another model and the safety was not loose and broken. This is the second gun I have purchased from here with issues. As a retail gun shop you are selling other manufacturer's products. Make sure the products you are selling function and are not broken when providing to the end user (your customers). Tyler- Special order, this gun is listed on your website. Per Larry it’s just being held at the manufacturer’s warehouse. When I picked up the gun initially and inspected it in the member’s lounge. I immediately noticed the switch would rotate 20-30 degrees off parallel (per pictures). I made a note to the person I was with that day and they agreed. I then had a range officer bring the gun to the range where I could inspect it further without flagging anyone. At the range I did not fire the gun but inspected and noticed the switch when rotated would jam and not allow the trigger to be pulled. Before shooting it, since I was concerned about shooting it, I went and asked Larry if he could take a look. After his review he stated it does actuate between the two barrels but yes it seems off. He stated I should take it to the gunsmith and they’ll get it sorted out. I asked Larry if I should shoot the gun or wait and he told me it was okay to shoot. Also, per your statement and Sean the gun is used regardless of it being fired. Yes, the selector would actuate between the barrels and work but it was rotating 20-30 degrees off parallel and getting jammed. I see this issue only progressively getting worse. I was frustrated and stated I want a different gun because of the experience I had with the other gun taking months to get in working order. The other gun I mentioned was SW22 victory with an ejector issue. It did take months for me to fix it because I kept going back and asking the SAS associates for suggestions. All the SAS associates provided great suggestions, but nothing helped. SG1-did you clean and lubricate the gun. A-Yes. SG2-run some high velocity rounds through it. A-it still isn’t ejecting the spent casing properly and jams on every round. SG3-oh you need to run a couple hundred rounds through it and that will loosen up the slide. A-okay, that will require me to rack the slide and clear the malfunction every shot (proceeded to perform this with 150 rounds) SG4-alright will have the gunsmith look at it. We have to send it off to the manufacturer for them to fix it and it will cost $35. This whole process took months and multiple visits like you said and then in the end with an additional cost. This was why I was frustrated on Sunday because I thought I am going to have to go through months of bs to get a working firearm. As of now it’s a 4-6 week turnaround from the manufacturer to fix the over / under. If the dealership receives the car from the factory and the steering wheel is jank or the tail light is out they won’t sell the car. This is not a false or misleading statement this is my experience purchasing firearms at this business."
"This weekend I took the 16 hour CCW class at second amendment and I couldn’t have had a better time. Frank was the instructor and he was awesome. As a female, I was a little nervous going into the class and I was immediately put at ease. Frank was kind, intelligent and funny. He had a way of answering a question without making you feel silly or like you had a dumb question. On the range we ran different drills and he was so helpful and knowledgeable. Overall I had a great experience and I look forward to taking more classes there. Highly recommend!"
"We had a private lesson with Jamie. She was absolutely AMAZING! I had never used or handled a gun before, and she walked us through how to safely, accurately, and confidently use a firearm. It was educational, while still being enjoyable and fun. I feel way more confident after our lesson and we will absolutely be going back to the range. I would 100% recommend a private lesson with Jamie. Thank you!"
