Reviews of Home Services at The Home Depot
"I don’t know much about building thing so I went here to get some advice on a shelving I am working on. After looking around I could not find what I was looking for. Employees are hard to find. When I did he directed me to a spot to find them. I went over there and it wasn’t what I was looking for. So I had to ask somebody else, and they directed me to another part of the store, I don’t understand why they wouldn’t have it all together. I felt frustratedand and now I’ll have to do the research online"
"Real Mediterranean delicious food...gracious manager"
"Think, and then think again before deciding to trust Home Depot with your kitchen remodel. They drew me in with their advertisement of a "quick" remodel in as little as a "few days" and promises of being able to use your kitchen during installation. They warned me of the issues I may experience with outside contractors and convinced me I didn't have to worry about that with them...unfortunately, everything they warned me about was what I experienced and more with them. There was issue upon issue with my kitchen remodel including cabinetry, countertops, and backsplash. I spent 6 mos going back and forth with them and all their contractors trying to get all the work done when this should have taken a week or so of my time. Countertops were installed and reinstalled and still don't quite match up. The backsplash was redone 3 times and I went through 4 different crews and still could not get the job done correctly. There was wrong tiles delivered and put up, damaged tiles put up, wrong color morter used, tiles are uneven/loose, grout/sealant issues, and so on. I spent a good month+ without electricity to half my kitchen after they put a nail through the wiring. I spent 5 mos with exposed/open walls, varying steps of completion, and inconvenience after inconvenience. As they liked to remind me, even if it took 3 yrs to get it done right, they would keep at it...I don't hold much stock in that motto. I would be embarrassed to say that...They should pride themselves on "getting it done right the first time." instead. At some point enough is enough. Everytime they "try again" further damage was made to my house and I was left with a mess to clean up. I can't spend every day off I have sitting around all day waiting for their workers to show up and maybe get the job done. I will now have to find someone else to redo the backsplash that they couldn't get right. After everything was said and done there was no empathy with what I went through and while they gave me a partial refund it took another month to month and a half to get that settled...they also couldn't even refund it to the correct card I had asked for...it's just mistake after mistake. If you decide to go with them make sure your schedule is flexible and you educate yourself on what you want and how it should be done correctly. Be involved and unfortunately you may need to micromanage the job if you want it done right."
"Everything you need in one place."
"Trying to make an appointment with Home Depot for blinds measuring/installation was a painful process of repeating information five or more times and still having the person get my information wrong ... ending in me being told that I would have to start over the entire process of giving my name and address, and that there was a possibility that I would be double-charged. When I asked to just have the whole thing cancelled so I could come in person instead of doing this over the phone the lady said, "I will do that, thank you" and as I was asking if it got cancelled she hung up on me mid sentence. We are now seriously questioning whether or not we really want to do business with this company based on this experience and also the reviews of several others."
