Reviews of The Morgan at Loyola Station
"I'm in my third year of renting at The Morgan at Loyola Station and it has been a FANTASTIC experience. Renting here was a no-brainer. The building is easily the nicest in the area, well-maintained, and clean. My apartment was spotless when I arrived and whenever I have a rare maintenance need, it is promptly addressed. The staff is great. They are always responsive to any need, whether I'm talking to them in person or by email. They are great communicators and very professional. A special touch is that they provide lovely seasonal decor in the lobby and outside the front door and good vibes whenever I walk in. The public spaces are well-maintained and clean, and it has been a pleasure to utilize them. I love calling The Morgan home."
"Words cannot describe how this apartment has affected me negatively. I honestly can’t even remember when I’ve ever been compelled to write a review before. We signed a little over five week ago and regret it more and more every week. On the first day of being in the apartment, the dishwasher leaked under the kitchen sink. After several maintenance requests and emails, it was fixed four weeks after it was discovered broken. The request was made second day upon move-in. They didn’t even order a new dishwasher for us until two weeks in nor was there any communication between the first closed request and second request (this took three requests and several emails). The central air was always faulty upon move-in. It was always around 78 to 80 degrees in the unit. Then the heat wave came. The central air listed 81 degree but it was HUMID (we also had it set to 60 at the time). The heat wave was unbearable to the point of us leaving the apartment to cool off. After three HVAC maintenance crew visits in the span of five weeks the central air is (currently) working. The washer and dryer broke four weeks into being here. We are awaiting installation of a recently purchased washer and dryer. Some smaller complaints: the bathroom fan+light flickers and constantly trips off, lightbulbs weren’t checked or replaced prior to move-in with some dead/off, communication issues with maintenance team member saying “I’ll be back up with a ladder” (and on another day “I’ll be back up to sweep all the styrofoam in the hall” from installing the dishwasher) and then just leaving for the day without coming back up, and brown drip spots on hallway ceilings. I would mention the community areas they advertised as well, however they closed this for a month to renovate. Prior to renovation, the community areas would receive a negative review but we will see what they improve on. The elevator also has a nasty pee smell but they currently are spraying febreeze in the elevator to hide it. The staff is a toss up. A few are really nice and hospitable, some ignore tenants, some of them have a snarky attitude when asked for something, and sometimes I don’t even think some people behind the desk actually work there (friends of staff hanging out perhaps?). Just imagine coming home one day having clean a huge puddle of water under the sink and having to throw out water damaged items, another day after the dishwasher was “fixed” it won’t drain so now you have to figure out how to get this pool of water out of the shallow dishwasher (twice), another day your dryer lets out a loud hissing and stops spinning leaving you with wet mildewy clothes, imagine coming home from a blistering hot day only to come into an oven of an apartment. There’s just been so many issues already. This is five or so weeks into living here. The maintenance crew is in the apartment almost as often as we are. Signing here was a huge mistake and if you are considering moving here, check every single appliance. I would also like to mention that the community manager, Mandy, had a meeting with me and the maintenance team. This was such an awful experience with one maintenance crew member literally cackling in the corner while I listed my grievances. Mandy, I understand you were trying to save face here but all of these issues with the apartment shouldn’t have existed in the four week span (when the meeting happened) of us signing. And it is absolutely not my job as a tenant to follow up with your crew with pictures of what is and isn’t fixed after requests are closed. Thank you for showing me cute pictures of your dogs I guess."
"Simply deplorable. Elevators constantly smell of urine. Imagine a CTA elevator, it’s worse than that. Extremely unprofessional front desk staff. Shared spaces are in despicably filthy condition. Anyone with any standard of living will be wise to look the other way. Don’t bother asking management to assist with any issues with your apartment. They don’t care you pay $2K+ a month, and that money doesn’t seem to be put back into the community. Dated and broken equipment in all shared spaces. In the community room, there is a “kitchenette” which is a glorified Barbie house decoration. The fridge is hot on the interior. The cabinets are littered with filth. The sink doesn’t run. The internet doesn’t work. And that patio they want you to believe is so nice? It’s constantly destroyed by disrespectful tenants. This wouldn’t be an issue if management did their part to keep clean, but they couldn’t be bothered. They’re too busy on FaceTime. They also notoriously eavesdrop. You’d be wise not to speak in front of them, lest they intrude on your private conversations. Based on curb appeal, one may be convinced that this is an acceptable home, but please heed my warning — DO NOT RENT HERE. There is an adjacent apartment community that charges the same amount for TRIPLE the quality of living. These people do not care about their building, its amenities, or its tenants. Disgusting."
"I lived here for 2 years and absolutely loved it! I have zero complaints. The room was very nice as well as the gym and club room. All of the staff is so friendly and helpful. The maintenance staff are also great. One time when I submitted a maintenance request they were at my door only ten minutes later to fix it. I also felt very safe here because you need a fob to enter and there is also a person at the front desk. It is a beautiful apartment with an amazing staff. I would totally recommend living here, you will not be disappointed!"
