Steak 'n Shake

"Ordered on DoorDash an when the dasher got to the location the manager stated to the dasher he gave the order to someone else who was not my dasher an would not remake the food for the dasher even when I explained that i do Not have the order an the dasher was there to get my order. The manager would not even answer the phone when DoorDash customer service called the dasher stated he was just letting the phone ring. Manager needs to go back through training so now he has caused the location to lose a customer an he must not understand that it takes the average guest 3 months to give a restaurant another chance after a bad experience"

"Food and service was excellent. Floors were NOT sticky. Only issue is the manager who thought it was okay and professional to ream an employee who was obviously doing their best. They offered no solution to help and only publicly shamed them."

"The food and shakes are really good but the service absolutely sucks. We had to wait 30 minutes for our food when we were the only ones in line. When our did did come out, we didn’t get our shakes. We asked for them and then it took another 10 minutes for them to bring the shakes out. They guy working the window was also rude and not nice at all. He slammed the window in our face after we asked him a question about our order and he was being rude to other employees. The food and shakes were good though when we finally got them. :)"

"While on vacation back home to the Peoria Metro, I craved Steak N Shake, and I remember going to this location when I was little with my grandpa and watching the river traffic. The food was great, and the location was clean, but the kiosk ordering and lack of table service was disappointing. Don't get me wrong the staff was great, they had only a shell of what would have been in a restaurant and they were getting the job done. Just made me miss how it used to be, before staffing issues."

"Big fan of the S&S franchise, seemingly can't beat a triple meal for the value and flavor. However, covid planning affected everyone. That and technology. This visit was not one of the better ones. No greeting, no cashier, no bell hop style waiters, very desolate environment. Placed my order on a tablet, waited for my name/number to called cafe-style, told they no longer serve their seasoned salt individually, only by the jar 0.0 Self serve drink and go. Underwhelming dining area with nearly every table covered in residue of previous diners. Floor was sticky in spots. Workers were concerned with drive thru and door dashers. Food was cooked decently enough but lacked something. Being next to the main hotel probably saves their sales day goals. Wouldn't seek this location out again."
