"Leonard, Ernesto and Marco did a great job fixing a leak with our water heater. They replaced the entire water heater and replaced a section of rusty pipe within 3 business days of us reporting the issue. Thank you so much!"
"When I moved here in April management was going through changes; however, the maintenance staff, particularly Marco and Leonard, took charge and made sure the apartment stayed afloat. Recently, we had a new property manager take over, Avani. I can’t say more nice things about her. She is always helpful and always makes community engagement a priority. She is always available to listen if residents have issues and always looks to rectify them. Kyle and Mary in the leasing office are exceptional at answering basic questions and providing top notch service regarding lease and amenity issues and reservations. Every complaint here is about parking. The people complaining about parking and getting towed are parking in a fire lane. This is a mandate by the Lisle fire department. They are parking on the curbs rather than parking spots, which prevents fire trucks from navigating through. Paid indoor parking is reasonably priced compared to other complexes in the area that charge for reserved spaces. If you are having a hard time finding parking, park in the lot directly east of the complex. They don’t tow from there"
"I have now lived at the Avant for two and a half years and for the first couple, I absolutely loved my time there. However, with changes to the management as well as dramatic increases in rent, I would caution future renters. Despite increasing rent by at least ten percent over the past six months, management has not kept up the grounds or made improvements. Additionally, if you do not want to pay $100 a month for garage parking in a garage that leaks with no cameras, then you have to park in the outside lot where the policy is last in, first towed. Management is unwilling to solve this problem despite advertising themselves as "luxury apartment" living. The one bright spot is the maintenance staff, who are absolutely wonderful."
"I'm fairly certain that a lot of the 5-star reviews are written by people/employees of JVM Realty. Initially when moving in 3 years ago, leasing staff and management have been very helpful and understanding. At that time, I would've given it 4/5 stars. As time went on, seeing a change in leasing staff throughout the years, it's definitely not the case. The management here have been very tow-truck happy despite there being very little available parking in the back lot. They absolutely know what they're doing as they continually increase the indoor parking rent year after year. In typical apartment living, seeing a rate increase over the years with little to no-improvement within the building itself or the exterior/landscaping of the building. As someone has been doing indoor parking since living here, it's frustrating to see management continually send out email after email regarding restrictions on parking knowing that they don't have enough spaces, then having resident's vehicles towed. The emails do not pertain to me, but its aggravating seeing these emails and hearing about how residents who actually live in the building get their cars towed because management does not know how to handle parking. As for the rate increases, looking outside my patio door and seeing the mud and patches of grass degrade over the past few years is insulting. Having to pay as much as we do, to barely have any landscaping done, it's pretty clear that the money is not going towards building improvement. It definitely does not feel like a luxury apartment, it now just feels like a run of the mill apartment complex. I caution anyone who considers moving to consider elsewhere, ideally not managed by JVM. In downtown Lisle there are a couple of luxury apartments that seem to actually encompass "luxury" with amenities and restaurants significantly closer by, for not too much more monthly vs Avant. The only redeeming part of the building is the maintenance staff."
"Overall I give Avant at the Arboretum 5 stars. One of the only apartment complexes I can say deserve it. They really drive home what it takes to run an administration. I have been living here for a few months now and my girlfriend and I love it. Besides the amenities they offer such as the pool, movie theater, dry cleaning, package pick-up, coffee, billiards, and more. They also have great staff who are always willing to help. Maintenance is also super quick around here and really nice. Our maintenance man Leonard always comes around super fast and fixes any issues we may be having around the place."
