Cardinal Square

"I enjoy living here (301 McKinley, 508) very much. The furnace snafu of late autumn and early winter seems to have been corrected. The location in Mundelein is ideal: I teach at Carmel Catholic. In nice weather I can walk to the PO, restaurants and barber. My unit has 2 balconies, and with a west window in the bedroom as well, natural light floods the space. Having washer & dryer in the unit is VERY convenient. I considered moving to the new buildings, but am satisfied where I am. Finally, a shout-out to Scott. He responds quickly (and patiently) to maintenance requests. Keep up the good work. Mark"

"I applied to live in the newest building at cardinal square for an apartment that was around $2500/month. When the manager of leasing, Mary Zappa, ran my credit, she said, verbatim “we would never accept someone like this”. That was extremely rude of her to say. She acted like cardinal square was the residences at the Ritz-Carlton. I’m not sure who she thinks she is. I am so glad that I did not end up living there and I now live in a stunning apartment building in Highland Park, that is $3800/month. They welcomed me with open arms and were willing to work with me regarding my credit and financial situation. They didn’t even require me to have a co-signer. Mundelein is full of drug dealers, criminals and convicted felons. I’m so glad I don’t live there."

"Great property manager, great board (how many places can say that?), and we'll kept. Been here as owners since it opened, no regrets. Have a rainwater leak into our storage space but that's being taken care of."

"I lived here since 2018 Sep thru 2022 Sep. This unit has really nice washer/dryer and all stainless appliances with nice countertops and an island + engineered wood floor is bonus. Never had issue with noise from neighbors. There are some dogs in the building but owners are super respectful to neighbors. Temperature controlled underground garage is awesome during the horrific winter. Management office is very hassle free. On-site manager is also very helpful. The building has Geothermal Heat Pump, meaning your cooling and heating is very cheap. On average I spent less than $35 per month for the electricity. I paid $42 during the winter when we had shut down in 2019. Mailroom is secured. Each unit has key pad door lock. In-building fitness room is small but has pretty good and updated equipment to use. A walk pass over to Mundelein Station is about to be completed. USPS is office at a walking distance. I have no issue living in this apartment for 4 years. Lastly, they don't steal your deposit like other properties often charge you for ridiculous fees."
