"This school is extremely lacking in both academics and in atheltics. Moved around to different schools in Texas this one was a breeze, graduated in 2014. My time there involved one of my favorite Teachers having a relationship with a student who then killed himself. Sad times. Few teachers hold their students to standards here, if you want a better learning environment for your child look somewhere else."
"Great Place with both ECISD high schools playing."
"From my point of view (student) it's not a bad school, the teachers are very helpful but the only problem is teachers do tend to throw a lot on the students last minute. I had to create a whole country, draw it, and draw a flag in one day for a final grade. Some students can be very disrespectful but that's how high school is but other than that I've been very happy here and I prefer it much better than my other high school"
"Friday Night Lights!!! It is easy to see how they could be the underdog. Even with pop culture attention they still appear to be underfunded where education and upkeep of the town is concerned. Midland is a whole different story. Very sad."
"We moved to Odessa this summer (2015) and our daughter attends Permian. Since being enrolled in this school she has been bullied, video taped by other students trying to get her to do a 10 second fight against another girl and many more things. Since starting school here I have had to go up to the school at least once a month in regards to the above. Over the past 3 months we have received calls that the school was on lockdown due to a student having a gun or an air rifle was found in other students vehicles. After giving it much thought, my husband and I have made the decision to move our children out of this school and area. Starting in January of 2016 our children will be moved to Midland and out of this area. The teachers let their classrooms run ragged and I personally do not think she is learning the way she should. My suggestion to any parent is to keep your child out of this school. They focus more on their football player and marching band then anything. And that is because my daughter is in marching band, where most of her bullying began."
