"My wife and I recently moved from Las Vegas to Gurnee for work. We had to find a place sight unseen. We where really nervous because it is scary having to make a decision based on minimal pictures and reviews. The last thing we wanted was to be stuck in a place for a year that turned out to be a dump, or poorly ran. When we finally arrived after a 4 day car ride, we where very relieved to finally be at our new home. We got in on a Sunday and we where very pleased with both, how beautiful Gurnee is, and how cozy Pembrooke Clubs little community feels. We have been here for about a week now, and I have to say. The apartment is well maintained, and cozy. We love our apartment. It is not huge, but it is as big as we need it to be. We are completely happy with our new place of living. The walls are a little thin. We can hear our neighbors walking around and from time to time it does get a tad annoying, but it is definitely not something we cant live with. That is just part of apartment living. That is really my only complaint. As far as the office staff goes, I could not say nice enough things to express how professional and nice they have been. Particularly Jennyfer, and Kirsten. They have gone above and beyond to make everything as easy and stress free. If anybody is on the fence, or in the same situation as we were and looking for something sight unseen, rest assured that this is a solid choice to make your new home."
"I always wait a few months after moving somewhere new before posting a review just in case I run into any issues, and after several months my husband and I can safely say we love this place even more now than when we first moved in. Location: AMAZING location! We're across the street from Six Flags which I worried would be a problem but traffic is minimal at the entrance we're near and if it does get backed up there are several options to avoid that light. We're also less than a 5 minute drive from Gurnee Mills and a little over 20 minutes from Hawthorne Mall. Cost: We looked at several comparably priced apartments in the area and this one was by far the best quality. We're in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, fully updated unit with all newer appliances AND a washer and dryer in unit and even after all amenities are still paying under $1,900 total. (Side note: make sure you budget around $100 extra a month for amenities such as gas, water, trash, "Smart Home" add ons, etc... I included that in my $1,900 quote) Size/Space: There are a few different layouts and apartment sizes/styles to choose from which is nice. The one we're in is the Raleigh which has an open kitchen, TONS of kitchen counter space, nice sized bedrooms... I was a little worried about the size of the livingroom at first but was pleasantly surprised by how much the layout worked with decorating and furniture placement. Smart Home Features/Extras: I have anxiety and can't tell you how nice it's been having an app on my phone that literally lets me log on and check if the door is locked from my bed AND LOCK IT in the middle of the night!!! I can also unlock the door from my phone before trying to bring all the groceries in on one trip, or turn on the hallway/kitchen lights when I come home so I don't trip over anything, or adjust the temperature from my phone so it's perfect when I get home. The front doors have codes you can use (or just regular keys if you prefer that) to get in and there's still a lock on the front door of the building so I feel safe. Also, they have a trash valet. Someone picks up your trash outside your apartment as long as you put it out by 10am even on the weekend! There's a package pickup service at the office and you can go in anytime, even when the main office is closed, to grab your package which they put in a locker for you that you can open with a code. They even give you a few days to pick it up without charging which is nice. Staff-Leasing: Kirsten in the leasing office is such a BLESSING! She was so incredibly helpful during the application and move in process, and continues to be such supportive, friendly, positive part of this place. So many people just stop playing nice after you sign a lease with them but Kirsten genuinely seems to care for the well being of the residents. She's very involved in community events held at the office and while I haven't had the chance to make it to one yet (they do something special each month) I'm looking forward to going to the first one I can! Staff-Maintenance: We've had a few things we needed to reach out about (normal apartment repairs, nothing crazy) and each time we've submitted a request they're so friendly and the issue is handled so quickly! A part in our water heater needed replacing. I put in the request through the app and the guy was over almost immediately to check the issue out. The whole repair, from when I reported it to when they finished replacing the part, was UNDER 2 HOURS! Nerdy Extras: We are both gamers as well as work from home and haven't had any outages or issues with speed/connectivity. Also, if you like Pokemon Go, the playground is a stop! Overall, I've had nothing but positive experiences here since day 1 and as long as things stay as they are I'm looking forward to staying here until we make the transition to a house a few years from now."
"My daughter just moved into her apartment at Pembrook and everyone has been wonderful. Kiersten, who has helped us since we started looking, is always very friendly and helpful! She is patient and so kind whenever we have a question. There were a few things that needed fixed upon her move in, and once we put in the request, it was immediately attended to. All of the maintenance staff have been very friendly and courteous and in particular, Dan and Fernando went above and beyond today when they helped us move two very heavy boxes that had been delivered to the apartment. The are all professional, and it is so nice to know that when you have a maintenance concern it will be quickly addressed. Thank you for making her move in and first week go so smoothly!"
