"This place wants to charge me 900 dollars for carpet I called, and complained about since 2020. When I moved in here during COVID, they were not fixing anything. One issue I had was the carpet not being properly attached to the floor. I called Monica, she said she could not do anything. So I finally called again December 2022, because I could not shampoo my Carpet. They finally sent someone up in February-March 2023. I was told to reattach the Carpet I would have to move all furniture out. They suggested we wait till we move, and they can replace it then, but now I'm being billed 900 dollars for a carpet I been complaining about. It's not my problem they didn't probably attach the carpet when I moved in, and it's not my problem you chose not to fix anything during COVID."
"Do not rent from here. The bad reviews you see are in fact true. They have horrible communication, very rude, take no blame, use bullying as a tactic to get you to shut up. These are photos of how they have left the unit for over a month now from also being delayed a month prior to being done. Now I will have to explain to my guests on Thanksgiving why this place looks so terrible and unfinished. The manager on the property at watersedge in Lake villa il (Sara and maintenance staff) should not be in this line of work. Once our lease ends I will definitely be moving. Highly recommend to stay away from this complex. They really don't care about any of the tenants unless it is a personal relation to them is my guess. I have to leave 1 star but I really feel it's a big 0 and very sad this could be a great place but their staff is running it into the ground."
"I am a senior citizen living at Waters Edge Apartments in Lake Villa, IL. I want to give a shout out to the excellent service Sara in the Management office provides. She values privacy, confidentiality, is proactive in solving issues in a timely fashion. I had one reoccurring issue and she stayed on top of it, called sporadically to check on the situation and made sure it was resolved. Also during this snowy winter season, she has arranged for a plowing service to clear the parking lot, and have the sidewalks shoveled and salted. I feel reassured to access my car without slipping. Her service is greatly appreciated. Pamela Burke - Waters Edge Apartments resident"
"Lived there for 3 years with my boyfriend. When we first moved in Rosemary was the property manager and did an amazing job and always answered the phone with any questions we had. The second property manager was not too bad either and helped answer questions we had about adding a pet to our lease. After her, things went downhill. When Pat was the manager, she threatened to make us get rid of our dog due to one incident where our dog had diaharreaand the mess did not get cleaning up fast enough. The 1st time we renewed our lease, they did not provide us a copy or a full lease to sign. Once Monica took over, the complex went down hill and nothing ever got fixed! We had our kitchen flood 6 times in 6 weeks and when I finally threatened to take action if she didn't fix it, she tried to blame this on us and got all defensive. When we were getting ready to move out Monica was gone and a new gal took over and made it a smooth move out. We got our our security deposit back wirhin the right time, however they deducted monfre than half to replace the carpet. It's unfortunate that this was our first place but guess you need to learn for these experiences! Hopefully all these issues get resolved with the new property manager."
"Honestly, go find another complex or place to rent from. Lived there for three years, and only out of desperation was it for that long. Our apartment needed more repairs than we could list. Nothing will get repaired even with constant requests. We had a hole in our ceiling of one of our bathrooms for over a year, and then were told that it was our responsibility to continuously make requests for it to be fixed. When you move out, just wait for them to take every last penny of your safety deposit and tell you, they could have charged more. Normal wear and tear to them is an excuse to bleed your deposit dry. Sadly for me, I saw people mention this very thing before moving in and thought nothing of it, but if you’re smart you won’t make the same mistake. Property management was never the best, especially now with the current manager Monica. One the most unprofessional people I have had the displeasure of interacting with."
