"Safe neighborhood and comfortable apartments. But very poor maintenance staff . I got my refrigerator repaired and I am staying without it replaced for 3 days now. My dishwasher never worked since we moved in and the maintenance did not fix it. In general I don't see the appliances and fittings to be of great quality , they are mediocre(especially for the high rent price we pay). Otherwise it's a decent community. After 1 month : The refrigerator was fixed after multiple phone calls and visits. Dishwasher is not yet fixed . And now the dryer stopped working all of the sudden . Raised requests and no response yet for the past 10 days . Looks like I have got to push them once again to get it fixed. I am done with this apartment , will not extend the lease and will not recommend."
"I'm a 20 year old and this has been my first apartment. I've lived here for two months now and couldn't be happier. The complex has an incredibly friendly and thoroughly helpful staff that made my transition into my first apartment seamless. The maintenance crew is just as personable and respectful. I came into my apartment search knowing absolutely nothing about what it takes to lease an apartment but thanks to Marlot and Rachard (two of the main office staff members) I have absolute piece of mind that I selected the right apartment for myself. Not to mention the complex itself is gorgeous (you really have to see it in person, the image on google doesn't do this place justice. I'm excited to continue living until my lease is up!"
"Have been living here for a long time and have seen many changes to the property since the new ownership transfer from Shodeen. The units are very very quiet. With the exception of a bottom unit and having an upstairs neighbor that sounds like they have a pet Clydesdale.. Extremely safe neighborhood and nice ownership and management. The reason I gave the property 3 stars is because of the parking and pet situation. No one cleans after their dogs and also don't use leashes. So these large dogs are loose and I fear for my small dogs. There is a dog near the entrance that is tied up outside (which is supposed to be against the rules) that had a lead that made it possible to get to the street and I almost hit it. As for the parking, There are never parking spots in front of the building or in the lot in general. Usually have to park on the other side of the property and walk very far to get to my unit. There used to be parking regulations but the new ownership seems to be afraid to enforce anything on their own property. There is a towing company sign but I have never seen a car towed from the lot. They added handicap spots to the lots and took away 5 spots from my lot alone which already did not have enough. People Park in the spots that are not handicapped and although the sign says they will be towed or ticketed, it has never happened. There are cars with flat tires and haven't moved in several months to a year. The rule used to be 2 cars per unit and most units now have 3 or more or have motorcycles that take up a whole spot. The motorcycles and cars are covered which again was against the rules. Tenant Work vans and trucks everywhere A real wild west when it comes to parking. If you rent here, which I really recommend, be prepared to walk because that is what you will be doing. Rent is OK but seems high for what they are."
"I have lived at Ashford St. Charles for about a year and a half now and it is a great place to live. There are a couple complaints I've had: parking can be a pain because it is limited, my apartment flooded from my upstairs neighbor and it took 2 weeks for all the drywall to be replaced and New carpet and trim to be finished. That being said, looking for a parking spot and having to wait a little while for the repairs is nothing compared to the other aspects. The office staff is always super friendly and nice, my pup loves stopping in to say hello. The apartment layouts are wonderful and spacious. The location is prime when you consider dowtown geneva, St. Charles and the commons are all less than 5 minutes away. It's a wonderful place to live if you don't mind a little parking frustrations now and then :-)"
"My husband and I (and our large dog) lived at ashford for 7 months in 2015. They are very nice, spacious apartments, maintenance is responsive and prompt, and the pool is great in the summer. My only issues were parking- spots were pretty limited so we often had to park along the curb, etc. (though they were never ticketed) and the fact that the office staff, while very nice, are limited in what they can do for you. I requested they purchase a scale for the fitness center and was told they weren't able to make purchases like that. Considering I was paying over $1200 a month in rent, I'd think they could afford a $20 scale;) But overall we loved living there and would recommend it!"
