"Here is a honest review: Pros: -Cheap Rent -Properties are decently cleaned upon move in -Almost always answer the phone -If you run into a situation, they will try to help you out (unexpected move, late on rent, etc.) -Maintenance usually comes by quickly Cons: -Properties/appliances are not updated..at..all -They give you barely any storage space -75% sure they pay off city workers to do/say what they tell them to -Upon move in, things will be broken (dishwashers, windows, doors, etc.) -They lose receipts and then blame/charge you extra -You can't pay rent in cash because they don't know how to count it -They don't follow the law unless confronted upon Overall, I wouldn't recommend renting from them but in a pinch they are somewhat easy to work with and have a lot of properties to pick from. They sure aren't the best in Carbondale but they also aren't the worst."
"Would give 0 stars if it were possible. They charged late fees every time we could not get ahold of them to pay rent. They frequently entered the property without any notice. They also had loud parties at the pool on the property at all hours of the night on any given day. A maintenance employee even knocked on our door once at 11pm asking to borrow a lighter. We moved out early due to these and other issues including severe mold that they refused to fix, and now 55 days after the end of our lease they have sent us to collections for far more than we could possibly owe with no attempt at contact such as a phone call or letter. Save yourself the headache and DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. You may notice their rating on Facebook is 3.7 stars, that’s because they require their employees to give them 5 star reviews."
"Being a tenant with this landlord is quite disappointing and frustrating. This was my experience. I was their tenant for almost three years. During those years I had some difficult times but being self-controlling person helped me to get along with them. I do not like to move out with any issue with the landlord. Especially I was student and I needed my time for anything else except quarrel with office guys. Make it short, in June 16 2017 I finally moved out from their property. I cleaned the apartment and the manager had a look as I moved out my final packs of stuff. I told them I am leaving, the only thing he said was "leave the key on the fridge". Then before leaving the town one hour later I called them and told them that now I am leaving what I should do. It was him again answering well he or she (he mentioned a name) "will contact you later today for a forward mail address". I have my $400 security deposit with them. Well, the call never happened. I relocated to another city and started live there. After a month or so I contacted them asking them when you return my deposit and do you want my new mail address, he told me (he said a female name) "is working in deposit". This was an answer that I would receive from them for months to come. I even asked a friend who is still their tenant to visit them and remind them about my deposit. Thankfully the friend did and they asked him to ask me to call them which I did. Yesterday, I called them and this time a female responded she asked whether I filled out a form when I moved out I said no because you did not ask for that despite my inquiry a couple of times. She said OK I check with (the manger) and call you back. It never happened. At this point I came to the conclusion that they are not serious to pay me back my deposit and I know the laws because I studied it. So I have began thinking about going to a small claim court. But before doing that I called them and the manager picked up I told him that I am thinking of going to court if they do not return my deposit by the end of the week. He burst into anger yelling at me asking me to "stop harassing my staff". He even for the first time after three month mentioned that they have sent me a letter of fee of $100 for "damage". What damage you are talking about man? It was just me, my pc and a bunch of books. I never had a party in there or anywhere, never had a guest. I spent my whole life there alone doing my researching. I never received such letter simply because they do not have my current mail address, they never asked me for a forward mailing address. I was shocked how one harasses anybody if he asks for his legal right by politely making period phone call reminders? What is missing in all this is the legal dimension. I really do not like to go to the court, I never been there because I never had a legal or any disputed matter with anybody in my life so serious that I could not solve it with a handshake or a huge. But $400 is too much money for me to give up. So I hope they return my deposit otherwise we will meet in courtroom."
