"After waiting over an hour to get my blood drawn I was finally called back to get labs drawn. Once I was taken back I was asked if I drank a specific fluid before getting my blood drawn. I was never informed I was supposed to take a fluid before my labs. The lady then proceeded to tell me I can take it now but I would have to wait another hour before I can get my blood drawn. A 2 hour wait just for blood to be drawn is ridiculous. I don’t think NorthShore understands that people don’t have the luxury to wait all day for the possibility of getting their labs drawn. People have jobs they need to get to. This place has become very unprofessional"
"Rude lady at the desk. Called NorthShore Urgent care to confirm if Touhy would take patient, it was only 330pm as Skokie wasn’t taking patient as they were already full. Operator said yes Touhy is open and would take patient make sure will go now. Husband drove straight to Touhy, 15mins after I called but rude lady at the desk said well it was different person who said it’s not them and she does not want to talk at all. So operator and urgent care don’t work together then as this rude lady said it was not them. Are they supposed to work together when they confirmed that they still are taking patients? Regardless, no work ethics for this lady working in Touhy Urgent care. My husband was not taken in Touhy even after getting confirmation that they still are taking patients. Such a waste of time for a very sick patient could’ve gone to other places if they only said that they are already full at the beginning. What’s the use of their phone number?"
"just a few block from this location and had an incredibly painful staph infection and out of state insurance. the lady picks up the after bypassing two automated machines, she intentionally tells me that they wouldn't take it ,even after i ask her, if they can just bill me. and then transfers me to yet another line. an older lady picks up and confirms that i actually CAN be seen and easily billed. WHY can't your staff build INTEGRITY? you give nepotism jobs and no follow up. judging by these other reviews, something tells me this tracks.."
"I've been a patient at Northshore for years. I had a ruptured ear drum and made an appointment at the Niles Immediate Care Center. The woman, Julie at the front desk could not have been more rude and unsympathetic. After waiting in line I was 15 minutes late for my appointment and she told me they could not longer see me. When I asked if I could wait she told me No and rolled her eyes and said it was Northshore's policy that 15 minute late appointments would not be seen. I explained I was waiting in line. She looked at me and said sorry and proceeded to tell me to take my business elsewhere. She actually was yelling at me still as I walked out the door. I went to Advocate Walk Inn Clinic in Vernon Hills and they were busy too but pleasant, sympathetic and just kind. I can't believe that someone this rude is the face of Northshore."
"From all the times I have come to this location I have never had an issue/complaint. Today I went in with my son and as usual I walked up to the front/only desk. There was, at that time, 2 women receptionist I saw, Jovita (had a name tag) and Julie (no name tag). There was no line, no information about a forming of a line, and so I stood behind a customer and as soon as he walked off I went up closer to the table in front of Jovita, who said absolutely nothing as I awaited my turn. She didn't greet me, not a hello, hi can I help you, she didn't even look up at me. I walked to the next lady, Julie. I still said nothing on my end as I was waiting, and first thing she says to me is "you're going to have to wait because I am not done with what I am doing yet." Already caught me off guard because I didn't even say hi to you yet, I didn't tell you what I needed, I showed no signs of being impatient and thats what she says to me. In customer service people usually will say something like, "hello there, I will be right with you", and when they get back to you, "sorry for the wait, how can I help." Eventually, Jovita said she would take me instead and helped us to "check in". As Jovita is helping me, Julie makes a comment to Jovita, something along the lines of "people just walk up to us." I'm sorry, but yes, this is the front desk, so people need to check in, and we need to walk up to whoever is at the front desk. After my son had his appointment, the doctor told me I needed to go back to the front desk to get a cup from lab. I walked up to the front desk, and again there was no line, only one person talking to Jovita, whom I stood behind. Julie says "well are you in line?, I can't see you, you need to be standing in the middle, where the line is." There is no line, there is no indication of a line, theres no queue for a line, no stand, no ropes. I explain to her what I need and while she explained to me how I need to wait for lab, her attitude and tone was rude. There is a right way to talk to people and a way that just rubs people the wrong way, and from her tone you can tell she either hates her job or didn't want to be there. I sit down with my son while we wait for lab to give us a cup and I observe others walking in to see if its just me she talks to that way or others, and its others. She tells people rudely to wait in the imaginary line, tells people she cannot see them if they are not in the line. I overheard her talking to an older man who was trying to check in and she said "I don't get what you're here for." After that, I knew I had to find her name to say something because while its true we all have bad days and don't love our jobs, we should still treat people with respect and be aware of the way we talk to others. There was a third receptionist whos name I did not get, but she had blonde/white hair and glasses, she was super sweet and I could hear her talking to the patients as they walked in and she was very open to helping and guiding people where to wait. I waited in line to ask for Julie's name, and when I got it from the nice blonde lady, Julie says, "oh yeah, she was upset because...." No Julie, you don't know why I was upset, I was upset because I did not appreciate the way you talked to me from the very beginning and I didn't like how you talked to the other patients walking in, that is why I was upset. Next time my kids have another appointment at this location, I know who NOT to walk up to."
