Reviews of The Center for Sleep Medicine
"Very disappointed, I called because my cpap didn't seem to work. Waking up tired again. Told I had to have a sleep study first. Long story short. I still have my 6 yr old cpap machine. Water level is the same in the morning as when I filled it the night before. I am still exhausted when I wake up, and am now looking for a new doctor/ service for a new cpap"
"#1: Be sure to ask for the at home or unattended sleep study. My insurance said you had to do that "first" since it's way cheaper. It came back that I didn't have sleep apnea. I then had a nurse tele-visit who said "now we can do the real in person sleep study". I asked how often the at home study gives a false negative and she kept saying "more often than you'd think". When I googled, it was way less often than I thought. Turns out I had a different issue that was causing fatigue (not diagnosed by them). #2. The initial 15 minute televisit is more expensive than other specialists I've seen and it was kind of a waste. And they sent me a bill that included a charge for this visit that had a statement date that was 10 days after I already paid it on-line, which I almost didn't notice (they said the charge "crossed paths" which I'd believe if the statement was a day or two after paying, not 10 days later). When I tried to pay this second bill on-line, the website didn't do anything after I hit "submit" so I'm not sure if it's paid or not (it's an incredibly amateur website for payments) #3 When I picked up my at home study equipment I checked in early, sat for 45 minutes, then asked if they were ready for me yet, and the receptionist who I checked in with handed me a bag with a few brief instructions that were also printed out. So, I sat there for 45 minutes for no good reason."
"I've been going to this facility for almost 5 years. There is no continuity of care. I never see the same PA and they all say different things. I've had to have 3 sleep studies because of this in the past 2 years. I was fitted with a new CPAP mask 16 months ago and just last month they sent me the correct supplies. You can never get a real person on the phone unless you select the prompt for billing. In the beginning everything was great but the last 2.5 years it's been a nightmare getting what I need. My headgear was taped together because they kept sending the wrong supplies. I've tried getting my supplies from a different provider but the sleep center will not provide the information needed to the new provider."
"I've tried this center twice over the past 4 years, and have had negative results. In 2019 I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and insomnia and was able to meet with the insomnia specialist doc one time because she happened to be available when I was there; no one ever contacted me for the necessary follow-up. I tried again in November of 2023. Once again, no one has contacted me to schedule an appointment. When I called to schedule myself, I was told that the doctor doesn't have his schedule for 2024 and that someone would call me. Still waiting. Knowing what a struggle that insomnia is and how vital treatment is, I find this unacceptable. Once again, I'll be seeking treatment elsewhere."
"The people are friendly the doctors seem good but they have more patients than they can handle. The first booking will be fast but from then on it will take them months to get you in. The process takes multiple appointments, you may be better off going somewhere else. After everything is done I still find the people at the offices to be great. Scheduling remained a nightmare. The biggest difficulty is if they cancel your study and you have to wait weeks for another availability."
