"Do not live here. I lived here for 1.5 years with my roommate and her dog. The dog was untrained and ended up ripping up the carpet in my roommates bedroom. Prior to moving out, I went to the management office multiple times reporting damage from the dog and that I would not be paying for it. I even asked the management office to write it in my file. A year and a half later, I was sent to collections over unpaid fees one of them being full carpet replacement. I never received a call from West Pine regarding this charge and found out later that the invoice went to my spam. They just sent me to collections. I inquired to have pictures of the damage and what do you know, it was the carpet that was ripped up by my roommates dog. I called the collections stating this West Pine denied my appeal. Under the lease agreement it states under individual liability for late charges and damages that "You are not responsible or liable for an of your co-residents obligations as to their bedrooms". So why am I getting charged for damages that were not my doing? I relayed this to the collections agency and West Pine and continue to receive multiple phone calls from the collections agency."
"My husband and I have lived here for two years and intend to stay for at least a third year, possibly a fourth. It has positive qualities as well as negative aspects. I'll start with the negative and end on the positive. As stated, we've been here a while and have no plans to leave, so clearly, for us, the positives outweigh the negatives---SO PLEASE READ THE GOOD. Other reviewers have mentioned that the facilities are nice but often dirty. This is true. I definitely skipped going into the pool this summer because the water was full of leaves and debris, the carpet down my hallway is covered in white paint that dripped off of a painter's cart. The first floor of the lower wing smells off (upper floors are fine). Another negative is that it seems that many of the residents are college students, and there has been at least one illegal party. The apartments themselves are also a little dinged up--nothing major, but a mirror chipped here, a doorframe panel loose here. Those aren't dealbreakers for us. Here's why we're staying. 1) Great location. It's very close to our places of work. 2) The apartments themselves are simple, but are respectably well-kept. 3) It's reasonably priced 4) The gym has a private room where I can do my yoga. It's really one of my favorite features and I use it all the time (and it IS kept clean!) 5) Speaking of loving, I LOVE the staff here. They work so hard to make living here pleasant, and ALL the issues I've ever brought to them have been resolved within 24 hours. (Special shout-out to Payton and Meghan!) They clearly care about their residents and go the extra mile at every opportunity. So often, a staff just shrugs, and says, "Sorry, nothing we can do." I remember the first time I met Payton. I was really distressed because I was missing a package. She didn't just shrug and say so sorry about that. She got up and helped me look for it! I really appreciate that this staff has a culture that is proactive. Even if they can't always deliver the solution you want, they're creative about finding other ways to help. I really appreciate this! This includes the maintenance staff. I've lived in three other apartments in the past five years and this place has the best maintenance crew I've experienced yet. I really can't say enough good things about this staff. 6) Despite the afore-mentioned party, honestly, my neighbors are really quiet most of the time. We live on the third floor and I rarely hear the people around us. Hope this helps! Good luck with your apartment hunting!"
"I am writing this review because of how happy I am with this place! I wish a friend recommended this EARLIER!!!! Been here for over a month and the management is great, Megan and Paten are soooo nice, sweet and considerate. The maintenance is amazing. They come the next day if not the same day. No fault in this place! You - might- want to vacuum the carpet again or maybe team up with ur roommate for a deep clean but otherwise the place is clean and neat! I 100% recommend this place."
"Attention! Listen up and be cautious! I moved into the apartment on August 12, 2022, and left by the end of July 2023. But let me tell you, the place was a complete disaster when I first set foot inside. The worst part? The carpet was a stinky, furry nightmare thanks to the previous tenants, and nobody bothered to clean up after them. I had to roll up my sleeves and spend an entire afternoon scrubbing and cleaning everything. It took me months to get rid of that persistent smell, and I even ended up with a nasty cough and a respiratory illness because of the filthy carpet and air vents. Now, get this – when I moved out, they had the nerve to charge me almost $600 for painting the walls, cleaning, and fixing the carpet. Can you believe it? I moved in and had to clean up someone else's mess, and then I had to pay for it when I left! To top it off, the apartment looked even worse than when I moved in. The walls were still in the same sorry state as when I first arrived. I've attached a few pictures from my move-in day and some of the fur I had to vacuum up on day one. It's a real outrage!"
"DON’T LIVE HERE!!! I have had the most horrific experience with West Pine Lofts. To begin, the amenities are great until you realize how dirty and unkempt the common areas are. There were multiple hot days that I decided to go down to swim in the pool but I was only able to stay in the water for a few minutes because of all the nasty floating debris in the water (see photos). When I arrived from out of state to begin my summer internship, I discovered the unit to be in horrible condition, I would even say uninhabitable, when I moved in. It looked like nothing had been cleaned in years, the whole apartment reeked of cat pee, and had cat hair smothering the carpet. The whole unit was in such bad condition that I went down to the front desk and communicated my concerns with the office worker, Payton. She assured me that since I indicated these issues on my move in condition report I would not be charged and that the prior resident from whom I was subleasing would be responsible. My family and I spent three days trying to make it so that the apartment could be entered without immediately activating a gag reflex. During my two months there, my car was broken into and trashed in the complex’s gated parking area. Management had no interest in hearing of this or looking into it for me. Upon my recent move out, I received a large bill, charging me for all the issues I had reported both verbally to the office and in writing on my move in inspection report. I would urge anyone to avoid this apartment complex no matter how lovely the pictures appear online or how lovely the select areas you will be shown on tour. I have my dated move-in inspection report and multiple photographs to substantiate my claims. Management has responded that since I took over the least from a prior tenant, that I am responsible for all damages despite my move in concerns and my living there for only two months of the twelve month lease."
