"PLEASE take this as your warning. I was told not to live in coronado place and towers by MULTIPLE people and I should have listened :((( The location of Coronado Place and Towers is convenient, but not worth the lack of care from management and the many issues I have encountered. To start off, I moved in on Aug 17, 2022. We were not allowed to move in until halfway through August despite paying rent for the whole month because the apartment had to be cleaned. This would have been fine, except we entered our apartment the morning that our lease started to 8 people living in our apartment with their belongings & furniture (pictured). The people living in our apartment were in charge of cleaning all of the apartments (they were staying in ours) but this meant that ours did not get cleaned AT ALL. We brought this issue to management and they did nothing about it. There was furniture left in our apartment (it was supposed to come unfurnished so we brought everything) and nothing was cleaned. The next issue we encountered was the WiFi. I received a letter in the mail saying that our Spectrum contract up at the end of the month. Wi-Fi was included in the lease, so I did not think much of it. Then, the Wi-Fi in our building went out. It was out for a month. When we asked management, they said it “wasn’t their fault” (pictured). When I went to Spectrum to buy my own temporary wifi and inquire about the issue, I was told that Coronado had not renewed the internet contract. When I signed a lease for Coronado Place and Towers, I was excited about the amenities that I saw and heard about when I toured and visited the website. Unfortunately, many of these amenities are closed. Many advertisements for Nado feature a picture of a big beautiful pool, (pictured) when in reality the pool has been closed since I moved in 2 years ago. It is frustrating and unfair. They also mention a movie theater and bowling alley on the website, both of which have been closed forever. While the maintenance staff has been kind, the only follow-up o have received has been emergency requests. When our fridge broke, I submitted a request and we were brought an OLD, dirty fridge (pictured). The same happened with our oven. Our dryer has had a broken vent since we moved in, creating a fire hazard. We have filed several requests, each being marked as “resolved” with no actual fix. Parking garage is one of the biggest issues about the lease. Despite paying $50/month for parking, the garage is unsafe and disgusting. The gate for entering and exiting is always open, and several cars are broken into each week. While there has been slight improvement in security, I still do not feel comfortable leaving my car in the garage for extended periods of time. Whenever I go to the leasing office about an issue, they write down my name and tell me to send an email about the situation. I have never received a response to an email or a follow-up to a problem. While there have been a select few staff members who have taken time to help me, I have left feeling incredibly defeated and frustrated by the rudeness and unprofessional staff."
"Terrible apartments, terrible leasing office, never received all the furniture included in the furniture pack, walked into a dirty apartment and slept on the floor the first night due to them not bringing a bed. Had a clogged sink maintenance never came to fix. Fridge went out twice and had to tell them to stop giving us run down used fridge replacements. Painters left their paint and a hat, the stove was not put together, there was a cup taped to the window, and the hvac system was pulled out all on the first day. They cut the water off 3-5 times every month. They break into cars in the garage. Many people complained about issues, nothing is done. Many people break lease as a result of the poor conditions. Wouldn’t even recommend a roach to stay in these conditions."
"DO NOT MOVE HERE or trust a recent positive review left for this establishment. Former property management "Cardinal Group Management" uses bots and employees to increase ratings on their deteriorating properties. See recent review from "dani universe" - that user gave high ratings to three otherwise poorly rated Cardinal group properties in the same month - in three different cities. Cardinal group properties and Coronado is a horrid horrid place to live. See all other 1 star reviews for a glimpse of this place. Enjoy this photo of a "nail" as a substitute for a door handle, in Lindell East."
"If you’re a SLU student looking for a place near campus, save yourself some money and STAY AWAY from this place. My friend has been living here since 2021 and it was an extremely awful experience. Four months into his first lease term, his initial apartment unit had the ceiling collapse due to major leaks. The leasing team then rearranged him into another unit. Without his acknowledgment, they then voided all the agreements (All the signed documents no longer exist in their system). After that, many other issues occurred. His new unit has no heat, no Internet, and broken/leaking pipes, (sometimes there is no water also) ... He also does not have access to other amenities stated on the leasing agreements. He has filed multiple maintenance requests but none has been fixed. And now, after an “inspection,” the leasing team is threatening him for not filing the maintenance requests. So, with all the stress and fear my friend has been through, I don’t think it’s worth staying this close to campus."
"I moved into the west building in August of 2022. Before you move in they send out an email a week before with the apartment number that you are assigned. I called a couple days later to confirm when the guy (doesn't work there anymore) told me that I am in a different unit that I was supposed to be in. Many people were left without furniture or even an apartment, one person I know was even told they have to pay even though they weren't given an apartment. I rented furniture from Coronado and the day I moved in there was nothing in my apartment. I had no furniture, no fridge, and NO HVAC (photo attached). There was no HVAC unit in the maintenance closet. Many times workers would come by and measure my apartment for the HVAC that needed to fit and nothing would get done. Promising fixes I know would never happen, just to keep me from retaliating. I lived in this apartment from August 2022 to January 2023 in freezing weather with two small space heaters. It was so cold I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. It was never addressed and until I wrote a threatening email, which I got no response to, they were able to move me into a new unit. Although I am in a new unit (with an HVAC that leaks water everywhere) there are many more issues with Coronado and the west building. To name the most concerning, there are no security measures. The front lobby door has been smashed in and I doubt they will fix it anytime soon (the East building has been missing a front door for months). This is the same with the back door, anyone can come and go into this apartment as they please. There was a SLU student that was $exua||y assaulted in the West building and all they did was send an email about how "they care" and show off their security guards for a couple nights outside. (First time I've ever seen or heard of them.) They attempted to fix the back door but fixed it in a way where you couldn't exit the building (fire hazard) so someone broke the glass of it and now we are back at square one. It is clear that maintenance does not care, I tried addressing an issue with the new main head maintenance guy and he walked away while I was talking to him. There is no respect for you if you live here and they will always find a way to take advantage of you if you are a college student. The lobby is always a mess because people throw their trash everywhere. Rotting food and trash is what you will find as you walk in the west building's keyless entry and cracked door (photo of trashy lobby attached). To name another, there are two elevators in West. One as a service elevator, it broke August of 2022 when I moved in and was not fixed until the main elevator went out over two weeks ago. They say the service elevator is fixed but will get stuck on the 14th floor and wont come down, along with the scary noises and that it bounces when it moves. There are several older people who live in this building above the 3rd floor. Having to watch them go up and down the stairs is a sad sight to see, but also solidifies the fact that Coronado doesn't care about its residents as they take forever to fix issues like the elevator and leave residents in the dark. We are all communicating with each other and have heard different things from different maintenance and office workers here. No one has their story straight. It seems like they are waking up to the idea that these residents fuel their jobs, and without residents there will be no Coronado. If you haven't read the Riverfront Times news article about this place it will have many more situations that will help you make a decision if you are looking to move here. Coronado's parent company has multiple class action law suits in other states and it is only a matter of time before there is one here, knowing there are over 150 violations this company has on its plate. It's really a shame what's happening to this company and its buildings. Seems like no one around here cares and won't take you seriously."
