Southwoods Apartments 9287 Fort Sumter Lane, Sappington, MO 63126

"I’ve lived here for 10 months so I feel confident in reviewing now. I’ve had an overall good experience as far as first apartments go. The reason I decided on 4 instead of 5 stars is based solely on what you’re getting for the price. I’ll go into more detail below but here’s the tl;Dr version - Good 1st apartment experience, not exceptional, but nothing too bad. Long version - Everyone I’ve talked to in the office has been great. They worked with me and were pretty quick to respond when I needed to talk to them. The area is pretty good overall. Walking distance to parks, and pretty close to the highway. They have a pool and basketball court and the grounds are kept up with, just watch out for the huge dip when you pull in! I’ve had all good experiences with my neighbors, all pretty nice people, and absolutely no complaints there. The halls/stairwells are also pretty well maintained. I haven’t had any real bug or vermin problems besides ants, but they disappeared as soon as the rain stopped. The few times I’ve needed maintenance (AC and heat not working, and flooded dishwasher) they’ve gotten to me pretty quickly. The only problem I’ve had with maintenance is they’re inconsistent with how they let you know your work has been completed. Sometimes they leave a paper at your place, sometimes they email, sometimes they don’t leave anything. I wish they’d be more consistent so I could stop stressing about the problem all day wondering if it’s fixed. The apartment itself is good. Nothing exceptional, but nothing wrong with it either. I’ve had a pretty good experience overall, but I still don’t think it’s worth how much they’re increasing rent to when we renew. I think you could find a similar experience for quite a bit cheaper. It’s just a standard carpet + drywall type of place. The apartment isn’t too cramped but not exactly spacious either. It wasn’t cleaned very well when I first moved in. Like it seemed like it was cleaned but they forgot to vacuum maybe? I was vacuuming up dog hair for like a month before it all was finally gone. Another kinda weird thing is a lot of the streets are named for confederacy type things… it’s kinda weird being right next to grants farm and all they’d choose those. Names, made a few of my black friends feel uncomfortable. Overall 4/5"

"Southwoods has been great to us. We have lived here a little over three years! The ladies in office are prompt and will get anything answered for you. The maintenance team is the best..very quick, personable, always have multiple solutions if one doesn’t work, emergency maintenance very prompt! Southwoods is highly recommended for first time living, in between living, with or without kids. We’ve loved it here!"
