"Had a wonderful time In this beautiful place on 8/3/2023. Dr. Yip is amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. This historical site keeps the history and contributions of Chinese immigrants to Maui alive. Our family was even given a careful tour up to the second floor where some Dr. Yip’s personal collections are kept including a Guzheng (古筝) that my brother was allowed to play for a minute. The film in the cookhouse is worth to watch, in which is with much younger Dr. Yip and her personal journey devoted to Maui. We got to find some perfect jade pieces as gifts for family and friends. The kids enjoyed the carambola tree in the front yard with abundant fruits. This place is a gem among all others in Lahaina historical district and we would like to visit it again. My family and I are so shocked and sad to hear about the wildlife of western Maui and the devastating loss of lives and properties just a day after we left. We pray for Dr. Yip’s safety and survival of Wo Hing (和興)."
