Our Journey Through Life

Our Journey Through Life is a health health institution located at 1500 South Lake Street, Mundelein, Illinois, United States. Led by Renee D. Murphy-Hughes, M.A., LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 26 years of experience in mental health counseling and education, our institution is dedicated to providing effective counseling services. We believe in the importance of trust and collaboration between the client and therapist, and strive to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment for our clients.

Our counseling approach is a blend of evidence-based cognitive behavioral techniques, family systems, solution-focused, humanistic, and existential methods. We work closely with our clients to set goals and objectives, focusing on small incremental steps to reach the overall goal. Flexibility is key, as new goals may arise throughout the counseling process.

We offer free 15-20 minute phone consultations for individuals to ask questions and determine if they would like to work with us. Our services address a range of issues including depression, anxiety, fear, trauma, and relationship counseling. We aim to help clients gain a new perspective, make behavioral changes, and find joy in life. Through counseling and treatment, we guide individuals through the process of healing and growth.
