Reviews of Northwest Community Healthcare Immediate Care Center at Buffalo Grove
"Last night we went to the immediate care. My husband needed medical assistance as the heavy storms were approaching. We were in an examination room with some preliminary work done done. While waiting for the dr., the tornado sirens went off. Kudos to the entire team. Everyone was calmly brought to a safe area and Dr. Epstein sorted out the patients. Then Dr. Epstein continued examining and helping the patients in less than ideal circumstances. Everyone was welcome to stay (place closed at 8:00) as long as they wanted until they were comfortable driving home. As a plus, the Dr. absolutely helped my husband and was able to send us home vs needing an emergency room. Thank you to all of you! Well done!"
"Beware of the billing. I was charged a copay prior to my visit and then received a bill in the mail for a second copay. I followed up with billing and was told that they charge two copays. One is for the visit at immediate care and the second is directly from the doctor. It doesn't seem right to charge the copay twice."
"I only came into urgent care due to lack of availability from any of the primary care offices near me for another week. Out of the 35 minutes I was there, only 5 minutes was spent with the NP. He only spent 30 seconds looking in my mouth and did not provide any helpful information I didn’t already know. As someone in healthcare, there was zero compassion shown from him. I did not feel all my concerns were addressed and I was basically shown the door to leave. Today there is a $350 bill after insurance. I call the billing department and they explain one of the charges of $200 is a fee the provider sets himself. That is ridiculous and I will not be returning to this facility."
"You can read everywhere online that if you have a positive covid test that you can go to one of the immediate care centers and get at least one paxlovid pill. I was calling today to my primary care physician since 12 PM (every hour) with no results..Finally, at 7PM I went to the immediate care center which is in the same building as my physician just to have one paxlovid pill or a prescription for it. The immediate care center was empty at 7:30PM (except one guy whom they refused to see too). I was refused a service, because they told me that they need to to have a kidney test, etc. and only my primary care physician can do it. I had this blood test two weeks ago and the only thing they should've done is to open a computer (since I'm a patient of NCH). I even had my positive covid test with me. Basically, just "Please, call the Walgreens" visit. And I had similar visit with the skin infection 2 months ago, that was taken care very well. But not take care of a patient 30 minutes before closing, when facilities are empty???? And why to list 8Pm as a closing time? Keep it at 7PM if you don't want "walk ins" (which are "welcomed" there). Are they there to help people or what? I don't recommend this facility."
"Wasn't feeling well so I decided to head to the local immediate care center. Registration was easy and the staff were very friendly. They got you in and out as soon as they could, and I appreciate the care I received. Thanks to the staff for helping me feel better when I was feeling pretty sick."
