"My doctor is great, but the staff is absolutely the worst bunch of people to deal with. I get a call 3 days before my appointment from a woman stating that my procedure has been approved by my insurance, but I will need to pay over $1300 at my time of arrival. I asked why is that, and she stated because I have not yet met my yearly deductible. I said that I understood that, but the amount she was asking for would be more than what my deductible is yearly. I asked for an explanation and all she kept saying was that is "Our" policy at the surgical center. They tried to do this to me the last time I had to go in to this center, and when I questioned this, I was told the woman was incorrect and I only had to pay $650. This time, no one I spoke to seemed to want to listen to any reasoning I had to provide, and kept on saying that this was "Our" policy. I called my insurance company and they didn't even understand why they were trying to charge so much. So billing department is very inadequate when it comes to insurance billing and providing accurate information. Very rude, very informative and very frustrating. Then comes the scheduling department. I got a letter in the mail with forms to fill out, and it clearly said that I would be provided with my surgery time 1 to 5 days before my appointment. Never have they called me 5 days before. I get a call the day before my surgery stating that my time was going to be at 10:00 AM. I told her that would not work for me. Since day one as a patient, I have asked numerous times to make note on my file that I required an early morning appointment and I needed notifications of appointment times at least 2 days prior to my date. My travel schedule for work requires that I have to have early morning appointments. When I said that time wouldn't work, the woman said, ok call the clinic and reschedule the appointment and then she hung up on me. Didn't ask if there was a better time, just said ok and hung up. Their staff is rude, their billing practices are sketchy at best, and their bedside manner is despicable. If they cannot have a helpful staff because they process too many patients in a day, then maybe they should either replace them with people who can deal with that pressure, or stop taking on so many patients in a single day. I am on the verge of seeking a new provider."
"The worst place you could visit. They lie about prices. Don't trust this center. Since I had the surgery, 6 bills have arrived at my house that I did not expect. Since before performing the surgery I asked clearly what my total was and they told me around 2000, now it turns out that the total is more than 4000 dollars. and their apology is that the girl did not know that she was wrong. Without any solution, now I have a debt of more than 2000 dollars that I have to pay little by little for a year since I do not have a job or full money, they did not give me any real solution. They are liars. I would never recommend this place"
"I love my doctor, but the surgical center is like an overpacked assembly line. When I walked into the room where they get you ready, it looked like a morgue, must have been about 15 beds with people laying in them, all lined up pretty close together. It's enough to make you want to walk out, not a soothing way to start. I would not ever recommend anybody to use this clinic as it is for their surgery - it's cramped, and it's overbooked, they need to make it much larger if they are continuing to schedule so many clients. Plus, I had to wait an hour and a half to get into that room too, with high anxiety. Too bad I am having my second eye done, I'm even more nervous for this one."
"The nurses and physicians are informative, effective and over all terrific. I’m giving four stars because I got charged copay after arguing with a receptionist that I wasn’t supposed to get charged copay for a follow-up after eye surgery. She charged me anyway. Low and behold, a couple of months later I got a refund for that charge. Kind of frustrating considering my specialist copays are not cheap. Also, during appointment reminder calls, Patients should also be notified if they will have their eyes dilated. So that the patient can make appropriate travel arrangements I.e. someone to drive them to the appointment. There was a time I went in for my first retinopathy, but wasn’t informed that my eyes would get dilated and would need someone to drive me after the appointment."
"My mother just had surgery here this morning and was treated extremely rudely, I only wish I had been with her! Perhaps the nurse who did not want to come to work this morning, or regrets her career choice should pursue another line of work. To the eye center, don't let a good reputation go bad by allowing rude and unethical nurse poison your facility. There is no need to include her name both the other nurses and more importantly she knows who she is. Do yourself and every other person who walks in the door apprehensive and hoping for a kind experience desires, quit, find another career, your kind of nursing is absolutely not needed. Please, if you use this center, express concern and lodge complaints toward any employee who is rude or unethical."
