Reviews
"After 3 years of ankle pain, I finally agreed to seeing a Physical Therapist. Hearing positive reviews from other therapy communities, I reached out to Body Gears at the Wheaton location. Through creating a custom approach, my ankle pain has completely resolved. I have improved from using walking sticks with an ankle brace to now walking up to 8 miles with no sticks or bracing without pain. For anyone seeking competent, attention and custom care, I highly recommend Body Gears in Wheaton IL"
"I had attempted physical therapy at three other clinics, and I can confidently say Body Gears was the best. The receptionist was lovely and efficient; she could schedule the clouds in a thunderstorm. The therapist who treated me, Dr. Cody Lindsey, was competent, caring, and professional, and I’ve heard nothing but praise for the other therapists. Dr. Lindsey made sure to address all questions and concerns I had regarding my treatment plan, but more importantly, he was present every step of the way. Physical therapy is a hell of a ride; emotionally, it can be worse than surgery. When you’re navigating the highs and lows of recovery, you need someone who can lead you while walking by your side. You need a mentor and a companion, a cheerleader and a captain. And I’m confident that, at Body Gears Physical Therapy, you’ll get what you need."
"Body Gears provides exceptional PT services in all aspects of care. From the time that I walked in, I felt extremely comfortable and welcome in the clinic. The therapists are extremely knowledgeable and provide the exact care that you need, nothing more or nothing less. I would recommend any Body Gears location to anyone seeking therapy services!"
"I highly recommend the physical therapy services from Body Gears. My teenage son needed PT to provide healing from a sports injury, and Cody took excellent care of him during his healing and recovery. Cody was professional, knowledgeable, skilled, and caring. He always took the time to educate us about the body and how to best support and help the body to heal. He took the time to answer all our questions, was positive, encouraging, and easy to connect with. We really had a great experience and would highly recommend him and the Body Gears Staff....we are forever grateful....."
"Bad Medical Practice (you may want to read this monologue) To begin with, I am a Ph.D. Neuroscientist who have trained many doctors. On 6th April 2021 I had an appointment with Laura Valentine, DPT. During the time of the appointment, I was told by Dr. Valentine that a student (an intern) will be doing "most of the therapy" and she would be there to keep an eye on. I was OK with the plan, as being a Professor in a medical school this is a common practice. While I was there I realized Dr. Valentine had another patient during the same time and she started working with that patient. Something we typically call "double booking". That was the first red flag. The remaining of my session which included the all-important musculoskeletal exam was just with that intern, which Dr. Valentine never counter-examined. At the end of the session, she mentioned I would be mainly handled by the intern. I was clearly unhappy with the way things were happening. However, I still wanted to continue with the remaining sessions. Day 2: I was greeted by that intern and the entire session was by her. Dr. Valentine dropped in, only to say that she had a busy day and she is taking care of patients who needs pelvic therapy. Any patient in my place would perceive as that another patient actually needs her attention and I could be taken care of by an intern. So, I did not see Dr. Valentine at all! I had a condition, which neither Dr. Valentine nor the intern could sense well. Still the intern tried manual manipulation and in doing that she made my condition a lot worse. So worse, that I had to immediately go back to my specialist. Being in the medical profession for 12 years, I have never seen a clinical center as irresponsible as Body Gears, Wheaton! If you see the "Plan of Care" you would realize even that is not signed by Dr. Valentine. It is signed by an intern with "SPT" credential, assuming that is "Student PT". In any serious medical business that will be counted as medical MALPRACTICE. I have blurred out the student PT's signature, to protect her identity. I still feel this is not something I could hold the intern responsible for, this is rather a complete lack of seriousness in Body Gears in treating patients."
