"REFUSED CARE TO A CHILD! Yesterday my son needed to leave school early due to stomach issues. He also had slightly elevated blood pressure but has had clinical anxiety for a long time, which can cause his BP to go up a little when he is under stress. I took him to the Joliet Quick Care center at 2100 Glenwood Ave and, as soon as I mentioned that the school nurse had found his BP to be slightly elevated, we were refused care and told to go to the ER. I asked if they could just recheck his BP because I was sure it has been stress related and he was calmer by the time I got him there. The receptionist said they couldn't do this, that I would need to be put in the system as an appointment and wait at least two hours to see one of the pediatricians (I saw no other children in the waiting area), she again directed me to go to the ER. This is the first time in my life I have EVER been refused care by any medical provider and I am not happy about it at all. Just to note, my son is home from school again today and has an appointment with his regular physician later this afternoon. I checked his BP as soon as we got home and have been monitoring it since and it has been completely normal."
"My how what was once a great place has gone downhill due to Dupage Medical acquiring Meridian. I have been an patient since I was a child here since way back when it was Joliet Medical Group and have transitioned with all the name changes but still quality service. While it's normal to have to wait to see my doctor it is now a ridiculous wait. More than once I have had to wait over an hour (!) to see my doctor. The wait time to even get someone on the phone is horrible, all I can think is they have cut staff. I was there just yesterday for an appointment and had called to move my EKG to the same day so I can get everything faxed to my surgeon for my scheduled surgery and was told that the person who does the EKG isn't there on Tuesdays and when I made my initial appointment that they weren't there past mid afternoon! Well my doctors assistant emailed me to find out when my EKG was so they could fax everything at once this week and she said that she was getting frustrated and couldn't imagine how I was feeling. This all happened AFTER they told me there was no order in the system even though I could see it on "mychart" and Joan (doctors assistant) was upset they were saying it wasn't there. Without her guiding me through this process I would be very frustrated. I have given them 3 Stars for this reason. With the new tool of "mychart" I can communicate with my doctors staff directly. I can see my test results without having to make an appointment to go over them. This tool has been a welcome addition. I also like my doctors which is another reason I have not gone somewhere else. If I was a new patient I would not stick with them. My time is just as important as others and having to wait sometimes for 45 minutes after your appointment is unacceptable and shouldn't be happening. This tells me that appointments are being double booked. Every time I have called to make an appointment the are always experiencing an heavy call volume (except for right at 8:00 am). Lucky for me work is slow right now and I can leave my phone on speaker and wait till they come to the line. I'm really hoping that this is just an instance of still needing to work out the kinks with switching to new systems with Dupage."
"Was great until they were acquired by Dupage Medical Group. Now expect over 45 minute wait times on the phone just to make an appointment. Also, the operators are very rude. They forgot to press a transfer button and I could hear her talking to her co-worker making very rude comments about me. I pointed out the fact that I could hear everything she just said and my call dropped. Time to look for another practice. Hopefully my GP will leave Meridian."
"What has happened to my great Dr. !! Received a letter last month informing my wife and I that Dr. Nemeth Sr. has retired. We both have appt's sched in 2 months so we figured they would temporarily assign us one of their Dr's. We have been seeing Dr Nemeth for almost THIRTY years. I needed a prescription that needs to be refilled by hard copy monthly. Called the office a week ago and got the usual "high call volume" message. Waited 45 mins then left msg. Called back 3 days later and same. Left another message. Finally on my 3rd attempt today after holding 75 minutes I got a live person who told me I needed to come into the office & see a Dr for that script. Really?? For a med Dr Nemeth has been prescribing me for 20 years. I come in every 3 months. I was just in 5 weeks ago. Too bad that I'm a 30 year patient, that's all out the window. I requested to see Dr Nemeth Jr. Too bad again, he's busy. Pick someone else. Whoever this Dr Juda is he refuses to prescribe a med I've been getting from Dr Nemeth Sr. for 20 years. I have to take another day off work and come in again for my script. What has happened here?? This place is HORRIBLE !! Thank goodness I'm not sick. Good luck with that. The employees here are miserable and the patients are shown no respect at all. Time to start looking for a physician who actually cares and not a money making group of medical slaves who only care about the corporate bottom line. If you are a long time patient, run while you can because it's only going to get worse. My health and that of my family is something I care seriously about and I sense danger here staying with this now corporate entity. How sad that they sold us out."
"today i needed to call to make an appointment in your physical therapy department. the phone was answered by your recorded message saying you are experiencing a large call volume. that was this morning. since waiting was taking too long (almost 45 minutes) i opted to leave a message. i left a message at about 12:30. it is now 3:30 and no call back. so i called again. again the same message. goodness knows how long it is going to be this time!!!!! this is not the first time i've had this bad experience trying to make an appointment. besides that, when a person finallly does answer, the patient is then advised that they have to be transferred down to the PT department. why isn't there an extension for that department rather than waiting forever to make the appointment only to be told you had to be transferred to a different department. i'm sure i'm going to waiting for a loooooooooooooong time again. Maybe a patient needs to go somewhere else!!"
