Reviews of Orangetheory Fitness
"OraOrange Theory Fitness is an incredible place to get your workout on. As a long-time runner, this new cardio routine has increased my energy over the past few days! Can't wait to see where I am in a month."
"I absolutely love OrangeTheory Georgetown! I love that I can just show up and they’ve done everything else for me. I love that the workouts get me out of my comfort zone and by the time I’m done, I know I’ve accomplished something great. The OT beat armband collects all of the data from my workouts so that I can see my progress in the OrangeTheory app with all of the stats. Joining the OTF Georgetown family has been the most rewarding thing that I’ve done for myself."
"Be careful signing up at the Orange Theory. They were charging me $169 a month for a canceled membership for three months. In October 2023, I requested cancellation by phone, and I was told that "I must stop by the location to sign the papers." I insisted that I did not have time to drive to the location to speak with the manager and sign the papers; cancellation should be easy to handle online. Sensing my suspicion of a malicious business, the manager has suddenly changed the narrative - there was indeed an online application to cancel, which I submitted. On November 1st, I saw another charge posted on my account - $169 for the membership I had already canceled. I called, and the staff told me they didn't see cancellations in their system. I resent the proof of cancellation again. I was reassured that there wouldn't be any further billing, but they refused to refund me. On December 1st and January 1st, Orange Theory charged me again - $169. I had to call the office again. I was forced to go to the location to speak with the manager. I was promised to get a refund for a full months (although they charged me for three months in a row after I cancelled). The process of canceling was quite opaque and has left me with a bad aftertaste. What they are doing is stealing the money of their customers. Think well before deciding to join Orange Theory."
"Orangetheory Georgetown has been so much fun - every class is different and challenging and I can feel myself getting faster and stronger. The community is great too - I’ve been to those classes or gyms where no one acknowledges anyone else and this isn’t like that at all! The special/featured/themed classes (like Hell Week or sing-along) add even more variety."
"Back in May I approached the front desk staff requesting I cancel my membership. As a teacher, I do not get paid during the summer therefore, explained my financial restraint to their $170 monthly fee. Instead of canceling like I requested, the lady informed me freezing my account would be better until I regularly get paid again and it would be frozen until I can financially afford to come back. However, I was not told that the freeze on my account would only last two months. Imagine my dismay when I checked my finances today (in almost DECEMBER) and noticed that Orange time fitness was charging me $170 not only for this current month but for the past 4 months. I have not worked out since early May, yet I have been getting charged $170 monthly for a membership that I was told by one of their trained employees, would be frozen. I had no communication that my account was getting unfrozen. I had no communication from any of the staff members or clarification about their policy. I am out $700 and now being charged for a cancellation fee. I have reached out to not only the Georgetown store, but as well as Orange fitness in general about getting refunded this hefty amount. I was told that I would receive a callback from the manager In regards to what they could do. It’s not what they COULD do, it’s what they SHOULD do. I will not be recommending this location due to the lack of communication, misguided information, and unauthorized charges"
