With a commitment to excellence and a focus on providing the highest quality care, Cranial Technologies has helped reshape the lives of over 300,000 children since 1986.
Using the innovative DOC Band®, the first cranial helmet cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for plagiocephaly treatment, Cranial Technologies offers a proven solution for correcting flat head syndrome in infants. Through gentle, custom holding pressures, the DOC Band actively redirects head growth and promotes a symmetrical head shape over time.
Infant Head Shape Assessments using Digital Surface Imaging (DSi)® Technology, developed exclusively by Cranial Technologies, provide detailed 3D renderings to identify and address head deformities not visible to the naked eye. This technology helps create individualized DOC Bands for each patient, resulting in a custom fit that reduces treatment time and improves outcomes.
With nearly half of infants experiencing some degree of plagiocephaly, Cranial Technologies is dedicated to providing families with effective treatment options and valuable tips for preventing flat spots. Trust in Cranial Technologies for expert care and a commitment to your family's well-being.

"Staff is very friendly. However, don't be late because front desk staff might give you attitude. Late, I'm talking 5-10 min. Lets start by saying the insurance process sucks! took my baby at 6 months. around 12/5/23, I followed up several times with LONG wait times to speak to someone, then when they finally answered, their response was it's still pending. called again several times with no time to hold, had to go in the office to see what was happening, they told me they couldn't help me there but they would send the insurance team an email to call me. I received an email with a response basically saying ITS PENDING. I finally got a call 1/4/24, around that date. They told me my benefits and what would be the cost. They finally scheduled me to get my baby in for mid January. Then they call me to let me know that they read the benefits for 2023!!! they had to now process for 2024.... I told them, I was not about to wait another month. Then they called me 2 hours later. FUNNY how they got to check everything in 2 hours and the first time it took them 1 MONTH!!! My baby went in at 6 months didn't get his helmet until almost 8 months, he is now almost 10 months and can tell he is wearing it and wants it off at times. I suggest be on top of them with insurance or don't wait to long to get your baby in. INSURANCE people take LONG and are not helpful. Other then that, staff in babies rooms are very nice and friendly."
"We had an amazing experience. We met with Patti for our initial consult and she was so knowledgeable and encouraging. We saw Sonja for our weekly adjustments and she was always very attentive and had such a positive energy and attitude. Our son wore his helmet for 10 weeks and had great results. If you have any questions about your child needing a helmet, please schedule a consult with the Elgin location. They are honest and will help guide you. We are happy to be graduated but will miss all the lovely staff!"
"The staff at this location is great! Dealing with the insurance Liaisons for Cranial Technologies was awful! All they wanted was my money! They sent me an email to go over my insurance and info, during the call I was told my health insurance usually doesn’t cover the band unless the baby has stenosis and needs surgery. Then told me “to get the ball rolling” I could pay $2100 out of pocket otherwise I have to wait to hear back from insurance. I had already spoke to my insurance company to make sure this company was in network and that the band would be covered which I informed the liaison of. The way they went about it was very unprofessional to me and shows they’re just out for the money. So glad I chose to wait for it to go through my insurance because it was in fact covered!"
"Insurance team did not try to help me after I received a denial. I did my own research and got an approval elsewhere. They seem to care about production versus patient care. I do recommend Medicaid patients go elsewhere there are better options. if you receive a denial, do not give up on your babies!.. I promise there are better facilities that even offer physical therapy covered by insurance if you keep getting a denial"
"I can’t put to words how amazing our experience was here. I had no one but two kiddos need doc bands. The front desk staff was so beyond friendly, never once did I walk in and not be greeted with a hello or smile. Our clinician was Sonja and we saw her from start to finish and always enjoyed our visits. I never left an adjustment questioning what was done and what the next steps were. Thanks again CT for my twins round noggins!"
