"Update 11/30/23 It's been a minute and I still regularly attend Capoeira classes as well as the workout sessions here. So time for an update! TLDR: Whatever your background or interest if the webs landed you here I highly recommend you come try. Nothing to lose and plenty to gain! :) This is a great local business providing exercise for children and adults alike. It has helped me get back in shape, and also provide a playground to wrestle and go beyond my insecurities. -If you're looking for a martial art which is a great all-round workout with a rich cultural background, that can help you get started on learning a new language (Portuguese), AND picking up an instrument. Definitely come try out the Capoeira class! It's not just kicks. It improves awareness of oneself, of whoever you're facing, of the environment you're in, and how to use it gracefully in a game of giving and taking. -Just want to punch things?... Safely. There's a striking class! I myself haven't had much of a chance to attend these but I've seen my 18 year old relative flourish and come out of the class with a big smile on her face! It is therapeutic and a great way of getting rid of that pent-up stress. -Do you like pain? Want to question your life choices for 3-5 business days? The Jaguar Athletics workout is just the thing! They'll make you ouch, wonder why the hell you're there, and have you hungry for more next sesh! Most importantly whichever choice you make here, you truly become part of a fun, supportive community. The leading coach, Roberto, is very accommodating to people's fitness level and is very capable of putting you on a trajectory to the version you envision, and then help you beyond. -------------------------------- I had a great first impression with my $10 trial class and it got me eager to get fit and learn Capoeira! After I had recently witnessed my 5 year old cousin getting his first cord at a different group I was amazed by the demonstration/celebration, and most importantly its community. I was determined to find a group near my home to start my own journey and finally learn a martial art. I'm happy to find Jaguar Gym checked all the boxes for me. Roberto is very encouraging even if I was going backwards and got all pretzeled with my limbs. I also enjoyed learning the ropes of the rhythms used. I like the overal prices offered (you can easily find them on the website). I had nothing but fun and look forward to the next lesson!"
