"Wow where do I start?! We tried another class with another group first and it didn't even compare. From the very beginning it was evident that a MESTRE was teaching the classes. The level of instruction that is given unbeknownst to the students is staggering. My sons started at 5 and 7, now 9 and 11. One is able to do backflips, the other is able to the higher level acrobatics within capoeira. Mestre Demetrius has an absolutely uncanny ability to teach to all age groups and all ability levels. He truly is gifted at making adjustments for you ability level so you are receiving the same instruction. My sons trained for a year, then I began training. It was one of the best decisions I could have ever made. I played collegiate football and have been looking for years for something to physically and mentally fill that gap, ARUANDE Capoeira is it. As the other reviews have stated, classes are organized, skill focused and fun. As a collegiate athlete I struggled a little with this art, but the students new and old were very very helpful and exceedingly encouraging. As a result of my family's dedication, our Mestre's knowledge, and the groups support we have traveled outside of Houston on several occasions to various events and have created many great friendships. We have also learned a new language and a new culture that has broadened my family's horizons. Our circle of friends has grown outside of the US stretching from Canada to Brazil. You will be very hard pressed to find a Mestre that is more respected than Mestre Demetrius or a group that is more welcoming. This martial art truly is what I feel is the most expansive, inclusive, challenging, and fun of any martial art you will encounter. Take the time out of your day to try a class, you will not regret it not one bit."
