"This is the worst insurance company I’ve ever encountered. After being rear-ended by one of their customers, I got an estimate from a body shop that was significantly higher than the estimate from Fred Loya. When I took my car in for the repair and a technician took it apart to inspect the damage, the estimator at the body shop requested a supplement to cover the difference between Fred Loya’s estimate and the body shop’s estimate. It took the estimator at Fred Loya a WEEK to get back to the estimator at the body shop while my car sat disassembled at the body shop. During that time, I had to make multiple calls to Fred Loya to get the name and contact information for their estimator so I could give it to the estimator at the body shop. In fact, when I first called Fred Loya about the delay, I was told that no one had done anything with the supplement request that had been submitted to them. After the supplement request was finally approved, parts had to be ordered, so I had the body shop put my car back together so I could drive it while waiting on the parts. When the parts arrived, I took my car back, and the repair was completed in a week. I had to rent a car, however, during the time my car was taken apart while waiting for the estimator at Fred Loya to approve the supplement and during the repair. Because Fred Loya dropped the ball and delayed approving the supplement, and because the repair took a week, I had to rent a car for a total of 22 days, which cost me almost $1,900. When I called to get reimbursed for the rental car, I was offered $90! I refused the offer and was given an email address to send my request for reimbursement to. Two weeks later, I have yet to hear from that department. Further, customer service at Fred Loya has not responded to multiple emails sent to them. They’ve gone into hiding! I’m out almost $1,900 because a customer insured by this company rear-ended me! The other driver was at fault, yet I’m the one with a dent in my wallet!"
"I would NOT choose fred loya as insurance for anything even though they are cheap, i would give them no stars. I had a 6 months plan, I only received 2 text messages that my payment is almost due, no email, no text message that my payment ever went through like other companies do. I can't even reach corporate office I just get transferred to a regular office .When my policy ended in January 7th they took out January, February and March payments without letting me know that my policy got renewed on its own and i never received anything to let me know either. while I ended getting a way better insurance in February, they owe me a refund of 3 months but only want to refund me 7.99 .Now I have to wait and see if I get a call back by a regional manager if not I will need to take action with court to just get my money back."
"I am not a customer and never will be. I was, however hit on my electric scooter by a 3/4 ton Dodge truck driven by one of their insured in Austin, Texas where it was proven that the driver was at fault. And my scooter was destroyed. Due to the fact that I was just bruised up and not severely injured, it was going to be a small claim so I chose not to hire an attorney thinking that it would be a quick resolution. Boy was I wrong. Not only do they move at a snail's pace, they are also refusing to replace my $800 scooter that was run over by the truck and another car. If which I only asked for $400 to replace it. After doing everything they asked of me, I am 7 months in and still have not even had my property replaced. Though I was told to provide the model and price of my scooter in lieu of the receipt. They chose to change their mind and not pay to have my scooter replaced. Hard to do when it was a gift and bought used. They say I should have a bill of sale and a title like a vehicle. They have had my $1900 in medical bills for 5 months and have told me to date that they are waiting on a third party to attempt to save a few bucks. Forcing me to wait on any sort of compensation. Knowing that the hospital will deny any such request. As of today, I am having to take this multi-million dollar company's customer to small claims court because they refuse to compensate me in a timely manner. Funny thing is that my total damages are only $2,300. With at most $1800 for pain and suffering. The reason that I am posting this here is because if anything happens, and an accident happens, there is a chance that Fred Loya will not compensate the victim. Forcing you to go to court and pay the claim yourself, which is likely going to happen here. Kinda defeats the purpose of insurance."
