"I am so happy that I found HCRA. I started taking lessons with Stephanie almost two years ago. I am a senior adult and have ridden off and on for most of my life, but had not ridden in 5 years when I came to HCRA. l was given the opportunity to regain previous skills and confidence at a rate that pushed me, but not uncomfortably. I quickly realized that all the members of the HCRA community are like a family in the best way, with everyone pitching in to help to be sure that horses and riders are safe and well cared for. I have been at a number of different barns in my life and I rate this one among the best. The instruction and support I have received from Stephanie, and everyone at HCRA, have allowed me to greatly improve my riding skills as well giving me another family. I love spending time there and recommend it to anyone who is committed to the sport and willing to do the work necessary to grow and improve."

"I rode with Stephanie for a couple of years before relocating to Virginia. I’m also a trainer and decided to haul my mare in for lessons on a regular basis so I could continue to learn and improve as a rider and instructor. Stephanie helped my mare, Mizzy, and I get to the top of our game. She helped us focus on flatwork and fundamentals which in turn prepared us for our showing debut all the way to the meter classes at our first rated show together as a pair. "I took riding lessons there for about 6 weeks. Stephanie, the owner, never showed me where to get the tack and how to saddle the horse. The other students there did this. I was put on a horse and circling in the arena every single time, and NEVER received any instructions or correction of my seat, etc. I did learn NOTHING. The only thing she told me was to stay out of the way while the others were practicing jumping. This is the most awful place I have been for riding lessons. I now get riding lessons 1:1 and learned in 2 sessions more than with Stephanie in 6 weeks. I felt like paying her for being allowed to groom her horse...I do not recommend this place at all..."
