"My now 11 & 9 y/o sons started at AMA in June of 2016. The staff is EXCELLENT with children and older students and also work well with parents. We expect more from our sons, A's & B's in school, extra-curriculars (like sports, musical instruments, Cub/Boy Scouts), respect for others and speaking up for themselves. The staff at AMA has helped my sons learn the discipline needed to succeed, the confidence to speak for themselves and the drive to succeed. My 11 y/o matured enough to pass on his first opportunity to take his junior black belt test because he wasn't sure he was ready. He missed the next opportunity to test because we were out of town and still had the drive to go to class 3 times a week until his next opportunity, last Saturday (12/7/19) and it paid off. He earned his junior black belt after a rigorous 3.5 hour test which required a lot of 'grit' to endure. My 9 y/o tried to qualify for the test and wasn't quite good enough. He was a bit upset but is sticking with it and hopes to qualify in March or April. I've watched him suffer through class with raw toes from a rough swimming pool, tough out feeling poorly and even being hurt. Couldn't be more proud of how they have persevered! Can't speak highly enough of the staff! Edit 11/16/22: boys are now 14 & 12 and still enjoy going here. Youngest earned his Junior Black Belt too and both are hoping to earn their adult Black Belts."
"This establishment has been absolutely amazing for my 6 year old son. All of the instructors are patient with the kids but also teach them self discipline and control. I really appreciate what Mr. Bobby and Mr. Paul are doing for these kids. Their commitment and compassion for teaching martial arts is very apparent. I can’t speak highly enough of this place!"
"My son has a hard time with focusing so I was unsure if this would be good for him. Nonetheless, I wanted him to be apart of something as it would be good for him emotionally, mentally and physically. I cannot speak more highly about this establishment. The sensei is so patient yet to the point, he is so good with my son and all the kids, who are apart of the little dragon program. He makes everyone feel whole as a team and my son is actually learning and able to follow to the best of his ability. This program has made a huge difference in our household and I cannot recommend this academy more. 5 stars all the way"
"I have carefully read all the reviews stating how compassionate and caring the teachers are. Of how well they they treat children. My 14 year-old granddaughter approached the owner a few weeks ago before the business opened ( the door was propped open ) and she introduced herself and explained that she was representing the Samuel Clemens High School Newspaper and at that point she was yelled at and ordered out because they were not open yet. Is that discipline and compassion towards children?"
"Mr. Bobby and his staff are great teachers and our daughter truly enjoyed her year training here in the Little Dragons class. One very nice thing they offer is the day camps over winter and spring breaks."
