"My son is now 41 years of age; he is developmentally disabled having Aspegers(autism) with additional psych diagnosis. Due to the negligence and incompetence of the group home where he had resided, my son began telling staff he had not been taking his meds(pocketing, hiding, ie)and was having serious thoughts of suicide and homicide. Staff nor case manager did nothing to follow protocol of notifying psychiatrist and admission to hospital. After five (5) days of asking for intervention, my son attacked three female residents of infantile MR. The one staff on duty that morning had gone outside, leaving residents without supervision As a patient at CMHC, he has received appropriate care and attention. My visits there have impressed me with the cleanliness of the facility, the courtesy and cooperation of the staff and open communication line with my son's therapist. The distance is a problem for us. I miss my son and the life that was stolen from him by the incompetence of the group home staff which created this tragedy, I pray for my son, for our family and CMHC; truly are only Hope is in God and the staff charged with the care of the patients at CMHC. "Terrible place that when you call to check up on the people here and ask to speak to the doctor, or certain staff leave messages to get in touch to talk about some things they don't return your calls even though you are their POA. Just do research before sending anyone here."
