"Talk about a money making operation. Recently saw one of the doctors, following up from a hospital stay where one of the doctors saw me. The previous week,I had numerous blood tests done by my family doctor which I brought with me. Well, of course they had to do their own tests. About 6 weeks later, I receive a bill from a company for over $2900 for those blood tests. I have more than enough insurance coverage which is in the BJC, Heartland hospital system. When I received the bill, I was shocked. I called the office of this doctor and get a recording that we are busy but will return your call, blah blah blah. Never happened. I called the company that sent me the bill and gave them my insurance information and they were very nice about it. They said they would straighten it out. I will not return to this doctor or office again. Have you ever wondered why doctors always want blood tests? It's a big money maker!"
