"My daughter has waited for TWO years to ride a horse. On her 8th birthday (she was lucky the exact date of her birthday fell on a Saturday) - the magical number to finally be deemed old enough to ride a majestic beast name "the horse"- we visited the wonderful land of R 'n' R Stables. This land is an oasis of pasture and trees holding back the cement of the city. You can still breathe some magic of fresh air in this green land that is holding back grey of the busy bustle of city life. This is where we met a knowledgeable and kind man named Dwayne who fulfilled my daughters long lasting wish of riding a horse. I can appreciate the foremost he was concerned for her safety providing her and myself a helmet. We signed up for a daughter and me ride! Why should she get all of the fun! He also wanted to make sure we both knew the ropes (pun intended) of riding before we set off on our trail ride. He allowed my daughter to watch and ask her million and one questions as they saddled up the patient horses. They were mindful to give her Sunny, a smaller pony, who would be easier for her to manage. His consideration and forethought I appreciate as a parent. Once the horses were saddled we were given stools to help step on - and up we went! We learned how to steer - a little different then a car. We practiced around the arena at a slow pace several times and practiced turning and stopping. Then we got to gallop! The giggles erupted from my little girl! She is a thrill seeker! Dwayne was there the whole time giving patient instructions and encouragement. Once Mr. Dwayne was satisfied we were safe we were ready for our trail ride. We were led by a staff member the whole time. It was an enjoyable ride, just the perfect length of time through the property for a first time rider. When we were done Mr. Dwayne was so accommodating and took our picture together. I even admitted I did not get a picture of my daughter riding. He allowed her to go around the arena two more times so I could video her! How nice is that! My daughter went on and on about all the different horse types there are (thank you YouTube Kids) and asked a ton of questions. He then asked "would you like to see a baby horse?" Mr. Dwayne then made my Daughters Birthday Wish even better. He introduced her to Whitney, his GORGEOUS grey foul. She was so excited and wanted to play with my daughter and even went nose to nose with her. I can't thank R 'n' R stables enough for making her dreams come true. It really was a magical experience for a girl who has waiting 25% of her life to ride a horse. She is now saving all of her birthday money to go back and ride again! Although, now Mr. Dwayne, she is wondering if she has enough to purchase Ms. Whitney.....will you take $105. We promise to take good care of her and love her forever. Two very very happy customers."
