"Dr. Matches has been my daughters pediatrician since she was 2 days old. We see her at UNT Health Science Center (a teaching center for the university). She is very patient and works well with my daughter. My daughter actually wants to come to the doctor. Every time we have come to an appointment with Dr. Matches, she has had a new student from the university that is working with her due to rotations(I believe). I think she is a great teacher. There has been times she is explaining things to a student about different procedures and I feel like I actually learned something too. She is even great with the parents. I am a first time mom and I was breast feeding for a little while. I was having trouble getting my daughter to latch and had a ton of questions because truthfully I didn’t know what I was doing. Anyway, long story short she answered every question I had and offered advice on breastfeeding, gave me helpful literature and a woman from the center came down to talk to me about breastfeeding without EVER making me feel rushed or making me feel like my questions and concerns didn’t matter. I recommend her to all of my family and friends with children. I have read other reviews saying the wait is long and yea that is true sometimes, but it is a teaching center and they are actually teaching the students from the university and it does take longer because they are answering questions that the students have along with the parents."

I had my 4 year old daughter with another DO at UNT Pediatrics since birth and when my 10 month old son was born, the other DO was unable to see him due to a scheduling conflict so we started seeing Dr Matches. Within a short time we realized what a blessing this was and ended up switching my daughter to her as well. She is so kind and sweet with the children while still getting very important information to the parents in a way that is easily understood and NEVER has judged any of our parenting choices or made us feel negative in anyway for not understanding anything. She accommodates our busy schedules and is a true blessing to the medical community."
