Reviews of Des Plaines Theatre
"My wife and I went to the Des Plaines Theater for the first time last night to see Mr. Big...and, like the Arcada Theater in St. Charles, it's a *FANTASTIC* place to see a concert. We also had a bite to eat once we got there ( which was quite good ) and then headed to our seats. The ushers were very polite and helpful and the interior of the theatre was classy but not gaudy. And, based on what I could see, there isn't a bad seat in the house. Please keep small venues like this alive by going to see live music -- it's an AMAZING way to spend an evening !"
"Our retro 80’s band, The 1985, had an absolute BLAST playing at Des Plaines Theatre this past weekend! The attention to every detail for the guest experience shows an immense desire to create something unique. From the fantastic facility itself, redone with great taste, paying homage to the theatre’s history, to the impeccable customer service of the employees, every brand touch point was taken care of. As a band, we were treated very warmly and generously. The sound system, video and lighting were all top notch, setting them apart from their competitors. Finally, their president, Ron Onesti, seems to have an incredible desire to create remarkable live music experiences for his patrons. He hosted our show and it was amazing to see his genuine care and pride for his city. Thanks again Des Plaines Theatre! Highly recommend this place to bands and concert goers alike!"
"I've been here a couple times & enjoyed both. They work hard to get great performers across the USA & local. This is a historical movie theater with lots to look at. Seats are comfortable. I choose off to the side so I can dance. Sometimes there are 2 bands."
"It's a great venue to check out any kind of event, especially a concert. The sound system is amazing and is not obnoxiously loud, even in front of the stage. The chairs that they put up in front of the stage are not as comfortable as the permanent seats in the theater. It's nice to be up and close to the band, but it sounds much better if you're appropriately in the middle of the floor and in front of the stage. The concession stands could use more help, it just takes too long to get any kind of drink, or food item. I just don't like to stand in line for 20-30 minutes, just to get something to drink. I would definitely go back to check out any special event, but I'll make sure that I go with a full stomach. Overall, I had a great experience. I also think that some of the security staff need to be a little bit more sociable. If you go, you can park in the huge multi level parking lot behind the theater."
"Excellent venue for music! Easy access to bathrooms. Comfortable seating. Courteous staff. Decent sound in theater. Parking was a breeze although this is on a Sunday night during a less than half-filled attendance for the show. The pizza sold there at the bar/eating area was pretty good, too."
