US Social Security Administration

"The men at windows 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the social security office exists to get your hopes up after you wait for 3 hours with no refreshment or entertainment... and then tell you to wait for someone else to call your number. The security officer exists to brutally enforce the slightest infraction, even kicking you out as you leave to answer a call from work. And after spending the entire day here... they don't process anything in a timely manner, you have to fill out the forms a second time after finding out they expired... and then wait in line all over again to submit a forms you already submitted because it took too long to process. And this is AFTER you get kicked out because your phone rang and your boss wanted to know how you could still be up at social security. But then your boss would also like to know how you can submit the same form 14 times only to have it sit so long it expires. Why does it work like this? Because it doesn't have to work. They literally pay someone.. well YOU the taxpayer... pays someone to just tell you someone else will call your number after you've already waited 3 hours. The inefficiency is staggering, coupled with the fact that, after doing this for work for so long, I have to coach the staff on what forms they are going to require. "Why did you turn a 787 in with the 11BK?" "Because you always turn around and ask for one." "Take it back we don't need it." 3 MONTHS LATER "This is Social Security, we can't process your rep-payee form without a 787." 6 MONTHS LATER "I'm calling to check on the status of the 11BK and 787 I submitted." "The forms were submitted 6 months ago, they were voided, you have to resubmit." And around and around you go"

"I waited till my number was called she lied and said no one is here to help me …. So no one is here to take any walk ins ? 9:30 am I guess the other 50 people had appointments..What if I come back tomorrow… she said she don’t know if any one would help me then …. Basically I’m the only black person in the room and she want me to go to another office for service … very unprofessional, inconvenience, racist waste of time … if your black don’t go here ….."

"SSA sends letters las t minute, phone system purposely designed to avoid contact with citizens. We left multiple voice messages nobody decided to call back. SSA wants to send Fax but Fax number is not listed on the website, BTW we have 2024 and biggest office in the USA is stuck in the last century"

"Today, January 16, 2024, I visited this Administration. The professional approach in this department is simply impeccable. The male officer at workplace 10 has excellent information, he is very nice and courteous, I am very grateful to him for his help in my matter. Other employees work in the same way, and I also had a good impression from the Officer at the entrance to the building. He alone manages to maintain order, silence and control. Although there were more than 100 people in the office in the morning. Once again thank you all for your work."

"I waited 3hrs. Finally got a male Indian clerk who didn’t want to talk to me. Right away had a bad attitude. Didn’t let me ask my questions. It was obvious he hates his job but that’s not my problem. Seems to take his frustration out on the people who go for social security issues. Worst service ever."
