Reviews of Hotel Flora IL North
"Was told a week cost 280 dollars only to be told later it was 305 with tax and ended up having to check out a day early. Busiest hours are from 10pm to 4am, people constantly in and out of rooms. A girl spent 3 hours kicking on a door from midnight to 3am. Killed several roaches and flies were everywhere, also had bedbugs. The stay was exhausting, itchy and expensive for the ridiculous things that occurred."
"Dirtiest place I've ever stayed. I stayed for 2 hours and then I had to checkout because I was so disgusted. I didn't get a refund either. White crust on floor in several spots. Bathroom was gross. Dirt and stains on furniture, dirt in my sheets, and The list goes on and on."
"What an awful hotel. My husband traveled there for a job and stayed for several days. The room was never maintained or serviced while staying. No soap or shampoos. Plus, they put them in a smoking room after requesting a non-smoking one. They would not change it because they said, "you people" always smoke even when you say you won't. Also, was threatened not to trash the room or cook in the room. ?? Acted very hateful and discriminatory. They advertise they have breakfast but no."
"Probably the worst place I have ever stayed at. With a weekly rate of $196 for a tiny room that isn't cleaned except maybe one a week, its not worth it. The bath tub has a huge crack that when you push down on it there is mold that pours out. The sink can't be ran for more than a few seconds before it stops draining. There are holes in the wall which is extremely creepy. They have WiFi but it is extremely unreliable. A laundry facility is on site but you have to pay to wash clothes and its only cold water. The room comes with a decent sized bed, microwave, mini fridge, small dresser, two night stands, and a phone. I have heard from a few other people who reside here that there is a bed bug infestation in their room, personally I haven't seen it but I wouldn't be surprised when they store the mattresses outside in the open. I dont know when the last time the electrical switches were replaced but the first night my husband was shocked by a switch. The owner is nice, but his wife is rude. Overall I will never stay at that place again, even if it means sleeping in my car. At least I know it is clean and safe."
"Stayed for a few months for a job. Rate of $165 weekly, not the cheapest in town but fairly close. Rooms vary from okay to dilapidated. About as clean as one would expect for a utilitarian 50's motor lodge. Furnishings generally not functional such as dressers which tend to fall apart if you dare to open a drawer. Most of the plumbing works fine except for one room wherein the sink barely trickled any water. Ample hot water. Micro/fridge in every room. Washer/drier onsite, cold-water wash only. No insect infestations. Has wifi but it is unreliable. Only place in Clay county that still has smoking rooms. Only major issue were some of the long-term residents. If you like peace and quiet, find someplace else. Screaming arguments at 3am between tenants are commonplace here. Overall, it is okay for the price if you need a place to crash between shifts on a job and are a heavy sleeper. Not worth it if you are a vacationer looking for a stopover. For the nightly rate you can find better accommodations down the road."
