"This review is for both the ER facility and also the Doctor's offices at this location. MEDICAL PRACTICE: For the physician's office located on the second floor, I found that all the staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. As a new patient, we picked up paperwork to fill out to allow this office to pull our medical records from our previous physician's office prior to our making an appointment with one of the staff physicians to establish care. There's an online Patient Portal which is convenient. ... ER REVIEW: My daughter saw the physicians at the ER and they treated her with respect and also gave me updates as I wasn't allowed to be with her during treatment. There's a gift shop in the hospital which is nice if you're visiting someone and want to pick up a gift."

"Kayla from Midwest medical center Dr. Mats assistant nurse called my phone and asked me have I ever seen a gynecologist before! After asking that question she answered it and said No for me as if I said No I didn't even answer the question yet that statement made me so vivid I asked for Dr. Matt to call me back he did only to interrupt me mid conversation and start taking up for Kayla saying that she didn't mean it like that she didn't say it like that He pissed me off He's not even a woman to even defend something like that I'm not sure what's really going on with Kayla and DR. Matt But it's bad practice to defend an ignorant statement from your nurse I sure as heck will not allow him to be my Doctor again who wants a doctor that defends a woman who attacks a grown womens Health on that level Kayla needs to be fired in my opinion just for that statement alone Because if she's ignorant to me she's ignorant of other women This is discrimination at its finest This is a lawsuit type behavior"

"Everybody that works here seems miserable and unwilling to actually help that they are more often than not WORSE than useless. I drive thru galena and go to the hospital in dubuque, especially in emergencies."

"This place is horrifying. Even worse if you are a RN yourself. I wouldn’t go here for a hangnail because you may not come out alive. Nurses do not wash hands, scrub hubs, or change gloves in between patients. I witnessed nurses going from one patient to the next, to the nurses station, typing, using phone, carrying urine samples, all while using the same pair of gloves. The garbages were overflowing. A huge spider was seen in hallway. Lack of response to important concerns- it’s not everyday you witness your family member having a grand mal seizure. I am unsure how this place has not been shut down by the state yet. Very unsettling experience and I feel sad for those who end up here and are unable to advocate for themselves."

"Went into the ER with a Kidney stone that I couldn't pass and I made the mistake of telling them I was a veteran so they put me into a room without ever checking my vitals or giving me any pain medication and I sat in that room for 3 hours suffering until I told the nurse that I was leaving and going to Dubuque Mercy Hospital. When I got to Dubuque Mercy Hoapital ER and they found out how Midwest Medical Center in Galena treated me they shared a few choice words about them. I wouldn't go there again if my life depended on it. The Doctor on duty (if you can call him that) was one of the worst human beings I've ever had the misfortune of meeting. Dr Micheal green."
