"Trying to turn around the Biden Wokeness on Campus. Remember Go Woke Go Broke"
"Very disappointing conference venue. I visited as part of CPS-IoT week in May 2023, and, besides my own concerns, I heard remarks from others that this may be the worst conference venue they've been to. In the HEB Ballroom, where the keynotes were held, loud construction was occurring in the adjacent area, and there were also frequent mic/audio issues. In "Deman" where the RTAS'23 sessions were held, some lights were flickering, and the audio quality/tech support was very poor. The speaker was sometimes completely unintelligible due to echo or electrical noise. Furthermore, the projector either seemed low-resolution or not quite focused, and the temperature varied widely in the room (to the point that I would need a sweater when it was coldest mid-afternoon). As for catering, it seemed hardly better than what someone could buy at Sam's Club---this was one of the most disappointing parts. The guest wifi was also heavily firewalled, to the point that I was unable to remotely access any of the computers from my institution. Specifically, everything but ports 80, 443, 1720, 2000, and 5060 were blocked."
"Family Association Dinner during Parents Weekend was awesome!"
"I came here with my daughter during her new student orientation. We went to go ask a few questions at the Information Center, and got terrible customer service. The girl, Cambren, was on her phone when we approached and didn't notice we were there until I said something. She didn't really look approachable....and she made it seem like we were in her way by asking a few questions. It also turned out she gave us the wrong info to our questions. PARENTS....BEWARE!!!!!!!!"
