The lead gift for Ford Hall was provided by Gerald J. Ford '66, '69, his wife Kelli O. Ford, and The Gerald J. Ford Family Foundation in 2013.
This innovative facility expands SMU's use of high-performance computing for interdisciplinary research projects and aims to attract more external research funding. Students, both undergraduate and graduate, have the opportunity to work alongside faculty and industry professionals in this data-driven nerve center.
Ford Hall is home to the AT&T Center for Virtualization, the Dedman College Interdisciplinary Institute, high-performance computing and data science, and the Visualization Lab. Additionally, thanks to a generous gift from Linda Wertheimer Hart '65 and Milledge (Mitch) A. Hart III, the facility also houses the Hart eCenter, which includes SMU Guildhall, the graduate game design program.
At SMU, students benefit from a unique approach that combines rigorous learning with hands-on experience, preparing them to achieve their educational goals and broaden their horizons.
