Reviews of Loyola Medicine Oakbrook Terrace
"This one star is dedicated to Dr Garbage. Otherwise known Dr. Ahlin. She lacks showing sympathy and empathy for patients that are pregnant. As a doctor you're a resource for people show that you care about them. Provide them with information. To tell a pregnant woman "oh you can work 8 hours" after she expressed the toll working 8.5-9.5hr shifts was having on her is very insensitive and your choice of words were poor, just because you felt as if the occupation she has isn't harsh on the body. Also, when you're done giving an ultra sound give the women a helping hand to get up. Don't just grab your equipment and be in a rush to get out the room. Horrible."
"My experience with Loyola as a whole has been terrible. My best experience was with a tech who gave me her direct number to reschedule my appointment. I took the train all the way from the North side of Chicago and she knew if I rescheduled over the phone I wouldn't be seen for 3 months. Also my GI doctor was amazing. Aside from that it has been awful and I don't think 2 people can make up for the many who work in healthcare but do not have an once of empathy for what people might be going through. One scheduler wouldn't even listen to when I was trying to schedule an appointment with a doctor. She told me what type of patients the doctors take and I said "okay. I'd like to make an appointment. Then she repeated herself. I told, "Yes I'd like to make an appointment. My doctor referred me to them." She kept saying what type of appointments the doctor takes. I said to her "I haven't even told you why I'm calling. Are you trying to diagnose me over the phone?" Then she hung up on me. I called back and spoke to someone else who gave me the number to report what I had experienced. I called that number and left a voicemail. That was 5 months ago and I still haven't received a callback. They hire people who just want a job. They don't care about hiring people who care about people. Just trying to fill vacancies. That was the worst of it. But all other experiences have awful. Retrain your staff. You are dealing with sick people. Your job is to try to understand, apologize if needed and make it right. Stop talking back to patients and try to listen. Going to the hospital is already stressful. FYI. My PCP advised me to leave Loyola Medical Group. So I will be switching my Blue Cross over to a different provider."
"Extremely long wait times for scheduled check-up appointments. Waited over an hour to get called in and then another hour in the room before the doctor came and talked to me."
"I had an MRI done at the Oakbrook facility. My MRI tech was Erica. She was extremely careless and made me feel uncomfortable and stupid for asking a question. This was my first MRI, horrible experience. She was in a rush, did not make sure I was comfortable and had an attitude. Won’t be returning here. Not a good attitude to have for a healthcare employee."
"Security needs to do their jobs more efficiently!!!! Especially the PARKING!!! This person with the RED CAR should have gotten a ticket/towed for parking like that !!! I leave to the appointment and this car in red wasn’t there. I go to leave and I felt like doing the right thing to complain. 1S260 on 3rd floor. The lady behind the desk acknowledged me speaking but wasn’t listening to me when I mentioned I couldn’t get in my car door to get out. I tried to give her the license plate on that car she called security to assist me. All security did was look at the car and said I have to hop from the passenger side!!!! How can I hop over if I have a disabled mother?! I’m not going to hop over her to get the car out!!! Why do I have to do something if the red car was at fault?!! That is a poor solution. Security refused my request to go ask around in the building to find out whose car it is. He said I agree people should not park like that and it happens all the time. Basically saying I have to figure it out myself. Security left me and my mother who is over 70 years old in the snow. I had to call the police to help us out!!! The security needs to be more efficient with their jobs if they are working security!!! If I can give Zero stars I would!!!"
