Reviews of Davis Theater, Chicago
"We spend such a good time, we went to the SAG awards and spends suck a good time, plus my wife have to spend time in her childhood theater with her mother"
"Davis Theater is charming and lovely. It's updated where it should be updated (bathrooms) yet retains a lot of the beautiful antiquity that a historic theater boasts. The seats are fairly comfortable and the snacks are reasonably priced in comparison to AMC or any similar theater. I've yet to see how the theater handles times when there are several movies debuting at the same time given that they only have three screens, but their availability for the movie we wanted to see was fine. We had a great time and will return."
"Overall loved this theatre. My girlfriend and I went to a showing of "The Boy and The Heron" (side note, really enjoyed the movie itself, would recommend). Prices for tickets are better than average for the area. You can reserve specific seats in advance which I really enjoy (since I usually only go to see movies once in a blue moon and usually for a special occasion and its great to be able to guarantee a solid seat). Prices for food and drinks are movie theatre prices but again are better than I've seen at other theatres in Chicago. Only downside to this theatre is that you can occasionally here the showings in other theatres. This is presumably due to the close proximity to one another but it does not happen to a degree that at all interfered with the viewing experience. Because of its small size there is a limited number of films they show at any one time but this has become my go to theatre, 10/10 would recommend."
"Attended Chicago Indie Film Night. Great vibe at the place. The attendees, the staff working the concession stand & the energy in the space was good. The seats in the actual theater were great. It felt simple yet more. It is hard to explain but it excited me the same way being on a college campus does...you know something great is coming from it."
"What a great experience. Truly an art deco gem if the carpet is any indication. I went for the opening night of the Doc 10 film festival and saw STILL. Excellent film and viewing experience. I treated myself to a Marz rum punch though others did popcorn and candy. The event ran smoothly and I loved the Q & A session."
