Hampton Inn St. Louis/Westport

"The thing that makes up for everything else is the staff. They were all super sweet and accommodating to us when we came for my grandmother's funeral. They are some things that desperately need help. The lighting in our room was null, so three women getting ready in the dark was kinda hard. We had a small lamp next to the desk, and two by the bed, that was it. The sausage and hash browns were cold both mornings and the eggs were way over cooked. I waited thirty minutes for them to replace the creamer only to find the coffee was gone as well. That was the worst. The beds were so comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff amazing."

"I’m sharing this review in hopes that the manager will make things right. But my stay was awesome, Norma was at the front desk when I got here and I had gotten lost previously and she was welcoming and accommodating. I don’t have a bed Where I live so the bed was absolutely amazing to sleep in. When I walked in the room, the AC was on, so that kind of sucks, but I got over it, and I set the alarm clock and went to bed. I woke up in the morning turned out the alarm clock was an hour off, so I was very late. But, I went down for breakfast cause I still had 10 minutes. I checked with the front desk they told me I was fine, by then, there was five minutes left of breakfast, and when I started to prepare a waffle, the woman unplugged the machine, so I apologize and I moved on , when I went to put a bagel in the toaster, she unplugged the machine. I got really pissed at that point and said listen the room had the alarm clock an hour off and either way I still have five minutes. The woman put everything away as fast as she could , I am just speechless. I had such positive experiences here and was looking forward to coming back. I’m gonna speak with management and see if I can be accommodated in someway because I don’t think that’s right. I wasn’t even late for breakfast that’s the thing on top of it. it takes 20 seconds to toast something? I don’t know if it was 931 I wouldn’t even be complaining but it was 925 and I feel this woman’s behavior was unacceptable again. Norma was amazing last night and helpful and welcomed to me. I hope that , I will come back and will be welcomed differently by the breakfast witch"

"The check in went smoothly, get to my room the carpet is filthy, look as if it didn’t get vacuumed. Had nail clippings everywhere. I change to another room, that room looked the same way and bathroom floor was dirty. End up getting another room, and it had a musty smell, by this time I’m tired and ready to go to bed. I look at the beds there’s no bed skirt on either of the beds and one bed has a big nasty stain at the bottom. This should be unacceptable. They need to update all of their rooms cause it’s not worth the price. Put me In mind of a hotel. Please refund me for my stay cause I’m not comfortable at all"

"The staff was very nice and I didn’t have any issues with them. The hotel is older and has been renovated, but things just don’t seem right. Things in the room don’t really work like they should including the outlets. The thermostat on the wall also didn’t sync up to the AC but the AC looked to be original to the building. It was not very clean. The iron stained my clothes and appeared to have a short in it as well. There was a hornet in my room that came out of no where after I had been in the room for a little while. It landed on my head and at that point I decided to check out."

"Less than I expected from a Hampton Inn. Front desk personnel were good, the breakfast attendant and room cleanliness, not so great. Ample parking, easy highway access were plusses. Really, could have paid less at a Country Inn & Suites and gotten more. Bathroom floor needs to be mopped between stays. That's quite important. Food attendant needs to do the job. When we asked for things he responded quickly and politely, but didn't do anything else on his own, and then disappeared or closed the kitchen door. Coffee was empty, he changed it, but didn't noticed there were only three more cups. Asked for more butter, he didn't notice anything else that was low, or just decided not to go the extra mile. Not the expectation of a Hampton Inn, sorry."
