"I called the Star Motel two days prior to my family’s trip to Macomb. Ken the owner took my call and was very help and pleasant to speak with. I book the room easily and told him my check on time. The property is older but it is in excellent condition and close to many local businesses and restaurants. The room was very clean and affordable as well. My advice to travelers save time and money and book here compared to the 200 a night sold out Hampton next door."

"Overall great experience, no complaints. Front desk very friendly and accommodating to trailer parking, room was perfectly clean everywhere I saw, and the bathroom looked brand new. Comfortable beds, plenty of lighting, vacuumed carpets, cold quiet AC, cold clean fridge/freezer with a clean microwave. These guys know how to run a motel and take pride in their work. I also like the small town feel of these little old motels when they're so well taken care of, and from the calls I made, this was the cheapest place in town! Aside from that, you're next door to a movie theater if you want to walk over in the evening (I did), and also a short walk from many restaurants, gas stations and grocery stores. Los Tapatios was excellent and took about 3 minutes to walk to."

"Stayed here in August. It's simple, no frills, but great price and very well kept. I felt safe and clean here. The manager clearly cares a lot about the reputation because he has reviews posted all over the window by the check-in desk. Definitely recommend for an inexpensive place to stay in the area."

"Great hotel for the price. I stayed Sunday through Monday for $55 a night after tax. Staff was great, room was clean. Room had a mini fridge, decent sized TV and wifi. Outlets could have been more conveniently located. Towels were terribly thin. Bed was comfy, pillows excellent. I will stay here again if in town. Compared to the other prices of the hotels on this block, you'd be throwing away money if you stayed elsewhere. As other's have mentioned, it might look like a sketchy motel from the road, but it's surprisingly nice inside."
