Blue Spruce Lodge 503 Southeast 3rd Street, Aledo, IL 61231

"My fiance and I went here to get a room then went to get food then came back and were going to unload our semi cab then park on the road as instructed to. We didn't even get a chance to unload except a bag in the room. The male owner came up to us and proceeded to yell,holler and swear at us he even pushed my fiance and when I went to get our bag out of the room. The owner started to get physical and push me several times! His wife came out she lied and said she was there the whole time when she wasn't. I kept asking if he didn't like semi drivers,he never answered me. But got more belligerent. I have scratches on me from him pushing me. The police came and he looked like he was trying not to laugh at me. I wanted to press battery charges on the owner and the officer said ' it would be quite a while before he would meet me at the station. Like he was trying to avoid letting me make a statement. I wouldn't advise anyone especially semi drivers!!!"

"Economic price and friendly personalized service make this an excellent choice. Rooms are neat and clean. The owner and staff are very attentive to the individual needs of the guests. Will not hesitate to recommend staying at the Blue Spruce Lodge to family and friends. Very comfortable stay."

"First I have to say that although the rooms are small, they were well kept and comfortable. The beds were great! I would have given a 5 star, by we could never find he owners when we needed supplies. The one time we did get a response, we got 3 little creamers for a long stay. I would suggest bringing your own coffee and creamer and if you want extra towels, pillows, etc..get them when you check in. Also, bring your own shampoo and conditioner. Place was nice just need the owners to be more attentive."

"Very nice place to stay! Clean, comfortable, quiet and friendly! The building may be antiquated, probably built in the 1950's, but it is nicely remodeled, clean and comfortable! Will I ever stay at Blue Spruce Lodge again? If I'm ever in the area again, you bet I will!! Oh, by the way, ignore the naysayers who have posted mean reviews here! Those kinds of people wouldn't be happy in a 5-star, $100-million Hilton Hotel on the beaches of Hawaii!"

"Small, family owned w/o many of the amenities of today's motor lodge chains, but for for us as seasonal visitors it serves our purposes well. Clean with accommodating owners. Rates reasonable with discount for extended stays."
