"Had a beautiful experience from the get-go. Spacious for 2 plus a furry babe (caribou cottage) and inviting. Neighborhood was lovely, right downtown in walking distance to food, drinks, coffee. Owner was accessible and very accommodating. Breakfast was good ! Jacuzzi was probably the best part of our stay, super relaxing. Will definitely be back."
"We stayed in the “south of the border” room. There were lots of ants crawling around the suite. The breakfast was a warmed up frozen hash brown and sausage with a non homemade pastry. No fresh juice or coffee. Not worth the price per room for a night!"
"My husband and I just got back from a hiking trip at Starved Rock and we stayed here for 2 nights. We had our dog with us so we booked the Caribou cottage as that's the pet friendly option. It had an open living/kitchen area and lofted queen bed, screened in front porch and cool American Frontier decor. The place was clean and well maintained and breakfast was delivered each morning. All essentials were supplied (towels, mugs, etc) and for anyone who still likes to watch tv/movies on vacation (we can't be the only ones!), the internet connection was great and their tv even had Netflix! We've stayed in some places that had terrrrrible internet and it does make things frustrating so to me, this is worth noting. There are a few different firepits and seating areas in the garden space and the location to downtown was so convenient! All of the main restaurants were a block away and most offered dine in or takeout - Skoogs and Joy and Ed's were delicious and the ice cream shop was yummy! We would definitely stay again if we were in the area!"
"In town for a skydiving event for 6 days, four individuals in four separate bedrooms. The host is incredibly accommodating, since we leave at 430 in the AM, the included breakfast of the bed and breakfast didn't really work for us so they provided us with lunches instead the night before so that we had box lunches every day. Absolutely delicious sandwiches and the homemade pastries were incredible. One of our group is a vegan and they provided vegan meals for him. The host was extremely responsive to all of our requests. The kitchen has tons of pots and pans and cutting boards and utensils if you like to cook, far better than most rentals. Absolutely would recommend. Small thing, not the owners fault in any way....if you are a light sleeper, the train comes through very late sometimes and can be loud. I slept through it every time but other roommates noticed repeatedly, so your mileage may vary. Not a reflection on the service, cleanliness, location etc. All parts of the place that are managed by the owners are 11 out of 10."
"This place is lovely - perfect location walking distance from bars and restaurants. We stayed in the Serengeti cottage and it was really cool layout and design. It felt like a quaint hotel with a lot of character rather than a bed an breakfast; such a cool set up! Everything was clean and really well maintained. Great amenities and service. Breakfast was delivered to our room by the nicest gentleman that owns the antique store 2 doors down and it was delicious. Truly a great place to stay!"
