"We chose Fairfield for our one night stay from 12/31/23 to 1/1/24 since we had to be back in this area for work before heading up to Wisconsin. Check in was fast, lobby was clean and inviting. We had a room on the 4th floor at the far end of the hallway from the elevator. Room and bathroom were both very clean, bed was comfortable, the in room fridge is larger than some hotel room fridges, which was nice for a couple bottles of wine to get chilled for our new year’s drinks as we watched the festivities on tv. Ice makers were working (great for the bottle of cheap wine that wasn’t quite chilled enough when we cracked it open). We took a few minutes in the evening to enjoy the hot tub. The pool and hot tub were both clean, although us and the other couple noticed the hot tub may have been a bit high on chlorine. Honestly I’d prefer that over dirty water though, and it may have been recently adjusted in preparation for heavier use for the New Year’s Eve guests. And the pool room was definitely used that afternoon/evening by families and couples. My only real complaint is the young kids getting in the hot tub from the pool, splashing us in the face as adults were trying to relax and have adult conversations… but that isn’t a reflection of the hotel itself, rather a reflection of lack of manners of the parents who should have kept their kids in the pool (not just out of respect for us and the other adults here without children, but because young children shouldn’t be in hot tubs for health reasons). One big thing I want to note- despite there being families with young children here the same night as us, it seemed as if the hotel staff who put us in rooms kept in mind that couples and singles without children may not want to be next door to families with kids who are generally noisier! As we traversed the hallway and stairs, it seemed as if the families were in the lower floors or at least the opposite end of the hallways from us- greatly appreciated so we could get a restful night of sleep without hearing the rambunctiousness of little children! I typically avoid hotel breakfasts in part due to an allergy (alpha gal syndrome means no mammal meats or byproducts like dairy), and because the cleanliness in some hotels is questionable, but that wasn’t the case here. The breakfast areas were clean and the attendant was on top of keeping everything stocked and tables cleaned and was very warm and friendly with everyone. I had eggs, the turkey sausage and veggie sausage and a bagel and was ecstatic that I had alpha gal friendly options available! The food was hot, fresh, and actually appealing. It may have helped that we beat some of the families with kids to breakfast, but overall the breakfast experience was great compared to many hotels. The price may be slightly higher than some of the other nearby options (and lower than a couple others), but you get what you pay for, and I felt like this one night stay was well worth the cost overall."
"The Manager Chris was rude to my father in law that was paying for our stay and talk down to him. He asked for our credit card which he stated. Didn’t not go through the the following day showed a pending charge. When I went to speak to him he again spoke down to me and tapped the sign and said every bank is different and no charge will occur . When we checked out on the 3 rd day our card was charged for one night stay $130 and our father in law card was charged full price for all 3 days. Being prior military and a current L.E.O I bite my tongue and allowed my wife to talk to handle but being talk down to and lied to about payment for the holidays is not the best. The associate told us that the new manager would not be available until after 3pm ."
"Wonderful, friendly staff. Honestly, they made this the BEST experience. Clean and modern hotel. Love the fully private bathrooms with real doors! (So rare nowadays!) Breakfast was great, beds were comfy. Great service for the price."
"Hotel was very clean. Employees were awesome especially Mary who was in charge of the breakfast area. She remembered me from the previous day and gave me the "special yogurt". Even made special sausage for me because I didn't want the veggie susage or the turkey sausage. Didn't hear a peep from any of the other rooms or from traffic."
"We enjoyed our stay at this Fairfield in Rockford on 9-22-23. There is honestly nothing that we can complain about this Fairfield!! Check in and out were great. Employees down to the cleaning and breakfast person were so VERY friendly and accommodating!!! The lobby was inviting and our rooms were really nice. Had two rooms, for us and son/family. Was nice and quiet to have a good night sleep. At one time, we had a room up the street, and the interstate was so busy and loud, we didn't even sleep. So glad we chose to stay here at the Fairfield. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub but didn't use the exercise room haha. Coffee was good and breakfast had a good variety of whatever hot and cold you wanted. Really did enjoy our stay here!!! You won't go wrong staying here!!!"
